What is the difference between spring water and mineral water?

They say that tap water is better than bottled water, both for us, and the environment. Here lies the problem. (I’m from NC btw) I used to drink straight from the sink or the fridge door. It tasted fine (like you would expect water to taste) and I almost replaced soda/tea/coffee entirely. I moved to TX (Killeen) and I can’t stand the water here! At first I could barely stand to take a shower in it but obviously I had to get used to it.(If I don’t keep the bathroom door open I still get that weird feeling like I’ve been in the pool too long) I tried attached a Pur filter to my tap, it didn’t really help. I took the filtered water and put it in a Brita pitcher… Nothing. I can still taste that chemically-cholriny gunk. I do buy water by the gallon rather than individual bottles, but I’d like to drink from the tap again. I can’t really modify my sink/plumbing area (yay apartment living). Other than the above filters and boiling water every time I get thirsty, what can I do? Buying all those gallons can’t be any better than buying Auqafina?
I checked the water reports available online for both my current city and my home. Home seems to have a lot less of most of the contaminants listed. *lightbulb*

I keep thinking that my house cleaner has tampered with my water systems in my house such as the water softener and it is making me constantly paranoid. I am afraid of brushing my teeth, showering, and drinking water.

We have chlorinated water. We also have a beta fish. He lives in a fish bowl with a plant. The last time I changed his water; I let it sit over night before I put him in it. I was just wondering how long water needs to sit before it is safe for a fish?
The bowl holds almost two pitchers of water. I bought some Aquasafe but, it gives measurements for a 10 gallon tank.

i know that drinking alot of water helps you lose weight for some reason. but does this count aquafina and propel too? or is it just regular water?

Okay, I’m kind of confused about the whole purification level on water.

I’m under the impression that bottled waters like Dasani and Aquafina are similar to tap water.

But then there’s water with electrolytes added, like SmartWater.

And then the "ultra purified, energized" kind like Penta. The label says it does not contain all kinds of chemicals….

I can notice a significant taste difference in these, but how do they effect your body? Are they different or the same?

the water in our town test out at 36,000 grains, and we are going to get a water softener and could save about 100 dollars by getting a 30,000 grain water softener instead of one that is rated higher. would it over work the water softener, or just not give us as soft of water?

Hi-
My 5 month old daschund pees constantly. I don’t want to limit her water intake but I need to know if the accidents are occuring because of too much water. I would rather not take her to the vet unless it gets out of hand. I also heard that it may be linked to her about to go into her first heat. Can anyone support that? I want to make sure my pup is okay.

one day i decided to drink as much water as i could in the school day, and i drank 100 oz of water… but the only thing was i needed to leave class every five minutes because i needed to use the restroom… is there a way i can avoid this? is there something wrong with me? or do i need to space out my drinking of water, because i drank the 100 oz in about 8 hours of my school day.. Thanks!

I have no problem with drinking tap water usually, but in my apartment complex, you can often see the silt/residue in the water. So I got a water filter. Anyways, my pur filter seems to be expired (it blinks red, not green).

Is an expired water filter better than nothing, or is it adding more bacteria into my drinking water?
