Are home water filters worth the money?
I’ve heard that tap water has stricter regulations, although the reason I want one is mainly because mine doesn’t taste well. Is it really worth the money will I notice a difference?

Absolutely. You want to get your water the most purified as possible. So yes, home water filters are definitely worth the money.
yes and the cost of filter replacement is less if you bought bottled water .
they are good for rust or dirt but not for bacteria or chemical that might be in your water . they do help with minerals.
Hello, installing something like the cuno filter housing with a charcoal taste and odor filter element will make a difference. But you will need to replace the cartridge often, every 3-6 months. If it is a large house with a lot of usage you may be just as well off putting in a filter right at your faucet like Britta.
Yes, activated carbon filters will make your water taste as good or better than bottled water. We have the Brita one that just attaches to the faucet and it’s great. The filters last a long time, tell you when to replace them and aren’t expensive. On the other hand – these service companies that come to your door and give you the whole sales pitch and little chemistry demonstration in the hopes of selling you a $1200 system that also costs $500 per year to maintain – total ripoff!
ya it’s worth it because you don’t always have to by water bottles. i have on at home.
nope -consider the expense and the fact that they are not recyclable. they contain the same toxins that you are trying not to drink, so they must be disposed of properly -which no one really cares about making them hypocrites.
I have used Pur filters on my tap and in my refrigerator and I thought the water was fine but my husband said it still didn’t taste good so we got a reverse osmosis unit installed for our kitchen sink. I love it and it is great. Well worth it. The Brita pitcher works fine but we use way too much water for that. I make tea and coffee constantly and of course we drink a lot of water.
It depends what is making your water taste bad. There are different types of filters for different contaminants. I use a whole house filter to catch sediment. Its nothing harmful, just sand that from the bottom of a dug well. Other filters use activated charcoal to remove bad taste or odors. Its worth it if you match the filter to the problem.
