		<description>Brita will filter out some things but not sodium.  You must purchase a much more expensive system for that as described in other answers.  I do agree with a previous post in buying Brita instead of bottles.  This is much healthier for you physically and economically.</description>

		<description>no, filters get rid of complex chemicals, heavy elements, and such, i think salt is too fine to filter out with normal filters... thats why we don&#039;t just see filter plants on the coasts, they are desalinization plants that usually use evaporation</description>

		<description>No they do not. Sodium is not considered a contaminent so it is not removed. The most effective and top rated purification system, eSpring does not even remove it.  A basic filter like Pur and Britta definately would not remove it either.

The only thing that would remove it is a distillery. That is becuase it boils off all water and leaves everything that is not water behind, regardless of if it is considered a contaminant at all or not.</description>
