Goldfish are pretty hardy fish. I would just use tap water and get some water conditioner at your local fish store. I think they would be better off in the tap water if you have any doubts about putting them in the bottled water. Also, I don’t suggest letting your fish "float". It stresses them out more. And the conditioner should be in before you buy the fish, and have the tank running for about a day or two.
well tap water is unhealty for the fish cause of the clorine and stuff in it but itll live for a little while.but youll need to get a declore which nutrilzes the chlorine…… so the fish should live for a week at least before a death
for one real water cant expire so just the chemicals to make the water tastier expired wich makes it healthier for them!
water has been on this planet for such a long time– I did not know water had an expiration date.
water sitting in clear stagnent bottles can eventually grow algae, wich people dont like to drink, if the water has added floride, that will eventually expire, thus, the spring water has an expiration date, though none of those things are relative to fish health, it is possible that over a much longer time, some of the plastic could degrade into the water, i wouldnt worry about it.
spring water, distilled water, and RO water, does not contain important minerals that fish need to survive, if this was the only water you used you would have to add minerals and vitamens to the water.
It is best to use tap water declorinated with a stress coat product like Prime, or any other brand of stress coat with added declorinator
FYI, use the declorinater before adding the water, or imediatly after adding it, never ever wait for hours or days to add it. or the fish could get sick and die.
they can, not permanently, its fine if temporary but dechlorinated tap water is fine, a bottle of dechlorinator is 2-3 dollars.
Here’s what you need to do:
1) put the tap water in the tank, but leave a good amount of room at the top.
2) set the bag that your fish is in in the water, it will float somewhat, but the fish should be underwater.
3) after about 3 minutes, pour the baggie, along with your fishy and all the water into the tank. If you left enough room, it should not overflow.
4) ASAP!!!!!! go to your local pet store and get *Goldfish Water Conditioner* (preferably Aqueon, but anything is good)
5)Follow the directions to see how much conditioner to put in. It’s usually a few drops depending upon the size of your tank.
I would not leave the water unconditioned for more that 2 days.
If you follow these directions, your fish should be fine!
Good Luck <3
