you can. however it does lack minerals that are good for your fish.
The water color will depend on what type of filterization you use. You can use any water you want, but you have to make sure the ph, etc. is balanced. Drinking water is good(purified, spring, whatever) because there is much less chlorine. Needed minerals can be added later with plants or drops. Good Luck!!!
One thing to be aware when using bottled water is the sodium content. High sodium content in water can affect the process of osmosis which is how fish obtain some of their needed nutrients from the enviroment, the water they live. Some times bottled waters lack calcium, magnesium and potassium which are elements that aide in overall health.
it should be fine.
if you use bottled water use only clear NOT fizzy water it a dear way of keeping fish. Some aquariam shops will sell you water try maidenhead aquatics for this if you got one nearby
Yeah it’s totally fine. I usually go to Wal-Mart and get their brand of water to use on my fish the water is already purified and room temperature. If i were you I would try to get me a water purifier.

i wouldn’t put regular drinking water into your aquarium because there are alot of needed minerals that are filtered out of drinking water. Many pet stores sell aquarium water by the gallon and it is usually pretty reasonable on the price.
I dunno I was told that it would be preferable to use bottled water precisely for the lack of chlorine etc… I was also told I should put chlorine drops in my tank if I used tap water to take out the chlorine and then there is this clear water stuff you put in to balance out the iron. So I would think as long as it wasn’t mineral water or distilled it’d be okay.
I only use bottled water from a "water store" down the street for my 240 freshwater tank. It is Carbon Filtered, Reverse Osmosis, through several micron filters and de-ionized. I have not had any problems.
By the way, you can buy a RO/DI unit to install at home to "make" your own purified water. I plan on doing this soon (~$250) for a decent one.
Bottled drinking water is fine, just avoid distilled water or water with additives.
Odds are very good fresh carbon in your filter will remove any yellow look in the tap water and leave the tank crystal clear.

Use spring water. The come in gallon sizes, so it’s easy to calculate how many jugs you need. After you pour the water in, pour in a water conditioner to make sure that all chlorine and iron is removed.
