Filter Systems for Well Water ?
So my family is building a lake cabin and my Dad asked me to figure out the well water filtering system.
None of us know much about filters for water, but he’s thinking he wants two filters. One is for the high iron concentrations, because there’s a lot of iron and other metals in the water, and we of course don’t want that because it stains everything a reddish color. As for the second filter, it would just be to filter out any bacterial and viral things, or anything else harmful in the water.
He roughly estimated it would probably be around ,000 and I’m guessing that as long as it’s not too high of a price, we can afford it.
But I’m wondering where to start with this, like, which filters should I be looking at ? Which ones will work better for our requirements ? Which would be too expensive ? Are there any that can do what I specifically what I want ?
It would be great if I could get some help.

Can you go to anybody elses home at the lake and see what they use? How well does it work, and etc? Or call a company who sells these units and have them come in and explain their systems and what you will need based on your requirements and water quality. They are the experts. Also, if you want, don’t buy the system at first. Just rent it and see if it works to your satisfaction. Give it several months before deciding. When you rent a system, they have to come in and check it periodically. That is a plus because then you will know that the maintenance is being performed on it properly. Good luck.
