For my dorm,is itworth it to buy a water filter + filters each month or should i just get cases of water?
i was checking water filters out and they were 40 bucks with 30 dollar replacemt filters since the water at irvine is pretty bad. i woudl probably take a bottle or 2 of water everyday which is cheaper but i would have to constantly buy them and carry them up to my dorm or leave them in my car. so im not sure which to go with or if theres or solutions from people with dorm experience.

I like the brita alot better and it tells you when u need a new filter so i dont know if ull have to buy another every month. plus just keep a few water bottles and refill them.
Get a Brita. The picture itself costs the most. Like $30 but there filters arn’t much and you only replace them twice a year.
I was having trouble getting my kids to drink water so I called a local water cooler company (Springfield Natural Spring Water ) that comes out once a month and replaces my 5 gallon water bottle. I just set it on the front porch and when I get home … waa laaa. fresh water and its cheaper than bottled water. I rent the cooler that way if I need to have it maintained or fixed then it doesnt cost me anything. It comes with 2 spouts , one for room temp water and one for cold water. Its like the ones you see at doctors offices.
You can also opt to buy a cooler itself like at Walmart and I think you can even buy the water refills at walmart …but I like the convenience of the delivery. my water bill itself is about $24 a month.
Hope this helps!
at my dorm we had a brita and bottled water but i personally like bottled water cuz i can take them wherever i go.
If you decide to go the way of the water bottle, visit places like Home Depot, Lowes, Sams, etc – my G/F and I have been drinking water for months now and can always find some place that has 24oz 18pack bottles for like a dollar fifty.
In the longer run though, a Brita pitcher or a Brita filter will save you more money than either of the two methods.
Go with the Brita. The filters are designed to be used by a family of four and replaced every three months. With only one person consuming water, you could safely change the filter once per year. It’s a great way to save money while getting clean water.
I would get water bottles. They are good, because you can grab one when you head out the door. I always like to have a water bottle with me while I’m sitting in class. Plus that way, you won’t have to keep washing cups everytime you want a glass of water. Water bottles are cheap too. I always buy 24 packs on sale for $2.99 at my grocery store.
