Thats what cools the water. I know it doesn't make sense but they want you to cool your water with ice. It causes too many problems trying to run the water through the refridgerator evaporator coil. That will ruin the compressor and kill everything. And it would cost way too much more to add another cooling system just for the water. Does it have an ice maker?
