Since you have "awesome pressure" at each stem (bypassing the mixing valve--the 3/4" pipe probably helped here) then it must be the mixing valve (where the hot and cold water meet--controlled by the knob when functioning properly). Having no difference between hot and cold would indicate a problem with the mixing valve.
