How do I get my refrigerator to stop leaking from the water dispenser?
My Frigidaire side by side is continuously dripping from the water dispenser. It’s like one drop every 5 minutes. After searching and asking about this, I replaced the dual valve, but it did not help. There looks to be a single valve back there too, is that the problem maybe? What do all these valves do? The problem first started after I replaced the water filter, so it could be something else altogether too.

Pressure or air bubbles will build up in the water tank. This is what pushes the cold water out of the tank. When the glass is removed, the water valve will close, which starts decreasing the pressure in the water tank. The pressure must be down to "0" before water will quit coming out. This can take up to 3 seconds, depending on water pressure. Replace the water tank with a Tube Tank Kit, part number 5303918258. This kit is designed for use on Ice and Water Side by Side Refrigerators with the water tank behind the crisper drawer. INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove the crisper and meat keeper drawers, and the meat drawer cover.
2. Remove the old water tank by pulling straight out at the top and bottom. Cut the water tubes off
within one inch of the tank.
3. Place the new tube tank in the right corner by pushing the top of the tank behind the crisper cover
and up until you feel it hit the underside of the cover. Then pull it down about 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
4. Using the two screws provided, mount the tank to the liner. There is no need to predrill the holes; the screws will cut their own hole. NOTE: Do not over tighten as this will open the hole up too large for the screw to hold the tank.
5. Line up the end of the water lines coming from the tank with the water lines going out the bottom of the food compartment liner. Cut off excess tubing.
6. Using the two tube adaptors provided in the kit, connect the new tank lines to the refrigerator water lines.
7. Run water through tank until the air is bled out. Check for water leaks at the same time.
8. Reinstall the cover and drawers.
Chuck,
One valve works the water dispenser and the other valve is for the ice maker. The dual valve should take care of both of these. As for the single valve that you mentioned I am not sure what that one would be for.
Try removing the filter and make sure the top is on it good since that seems to be when the problem started.
Hope this helps.
