vinegar run thru the coffee pot when new gets rid of the plastic taste,i wonder if it would help in your case.maybe by putting a cup of white vinegar in a pot of water, place in your dispenser and boil for a moment.good luck
Well, you probably will have to run many gallons of water through this thing first, and it will "coat" the plastic eventually with mineral build up, an you will no longer "taste" the plastic.
New plastics often have a "taste" if their process isn’t "fit" for usage with their purpose. Or, if they are "raw" and not finished right.
Minerals, and time will take the taste out, then I would put a whole house filter on it, so that you dont get all the hard minerals in suspension onto your fixtures and ruin them.
I have two of them in my house and I catch a lot of lime, (really slick and nasty looking, and my wife told me that if I dont "change out" regularly, I’m FIRED!).
I wish you well..
