If your refrigerator is located near your sink, look under the sink and locate the cold water supply line. The water line to the refrigerator may come off a tap at the sink supply pipe. It it does, there should be a shut-off valve located where the refrigerator line is connected to the sink supply pipe.
Does your house have a manobloc system for your water. It looks alot like the electrical panel just has water lines instead of power lines. If you have this look at the panel. You should see a port marked ice maker. It is possible the prior owners did some renovation work and capped off that line
If you have a basement . check around the area of your kitchen, you should find a tap in the area that is shut off.
Near the bottom of the refrigerator (in the back) a copper or plastic water line should be coming to your refrigerator. It will connect to the inlet of a water solenoid valve. When the icemaker needs water it will energize the solenoid and allow water to flow through the solenoid valve and up a plastic pipe on the back of the fridge to the icemaker. Check for water at the inlet of the solenoid valve (unplug the fridge first). If you have water there then replace the solenoid valve. If no water then check the connection where the inlet line meets the main plumbing line. Sometimes these are cheap quick-connect connections that clog over time.
IF YOUR VAVLE LOOK’S LIKE A LITTLE ‘ T ‘TURN IT COUNTERCLOCKWISE!’
