Is drinking carbonated mineral water or club soda as bad is drinking other soda such as Coke?
I recently cut down on my Coke consumption (about four cans a day) and decided to try carbonated water as a healthier alternative. Is this just as bad as drinking flavored sodas? I heard it was the co2 that hurts you, and not the sugar.

No CO2 carbonation by itsel has no negative effects on you. I like cran lime setzer a lot and I don’t miss the sugar at all. Corn syrup is pretty bad for you in all kinds of ways since your body doesn’t metabolizes it in the same way as sugar. Sugar is absorbed through you stomach and corn syrup has to go through your liver. Drinking soda with corn syrup is about as taxing on your liver as drinking beer if not more so.
the CO2 turns our bodies acidic which can cause harm. However, sugar and the caffeine are much worse. Much much worse for you.
So eventually you might want to slowly wean your self off carbonated water, but there is no rush.
