Is it worth it to install a water softener after a acid neutralizer?
Our well water has a low ph, so we have a acid neutralizer, which protects our pipes but causes the water to be hard. It seems to me that a water softener would diminish the benefits of the neutralizer; (protecting the plumbing from corrosion). Is it worth the trouble of installing a water softener? Would the water really be significantly better? ie: washing clothes, shower water, etc.

You should install softener. You may need to adjust neutralizer setting, but the two have little effect on each other. You will notice huge difference if properly adjusted. Wife loved effect on hair, wash, etc…
there should be a dial or computer to adjust the level of acidity. yes, you should buy a softener, as i have a faulty one and when it sometimes fails, i notice a HUGE difference in water quality.
