the Pure water filters that you install on your sink faucet work pretty good. If I remember right, it was about $50 for the unit with the first cartridge and the cartridges are about $40 for 3 at Walmart. AND...the water tastes pretty good after being installed. Make sure and read the instructions cuz your supposed to run water through the filter for 5 minutes before you start drinking it......lol

Reverse Osmoses for under the sink.
I know Culligan has them; we got ours from Pure Water. You can find some for $200 up to $400 but they would not have enough filters to do a thorough job. Ours was an $800 system with 3 filter system, 3 gallon resevoir, does not allow excess water draining down drain as waste plus had better warranty. This requires to have all filters changed twice a year for under $50 each time. Water now tastes same as good quality bottled water. Steve (at home here) had numerous stomach & bowel problems after his cancer treatments which are non existant after the water system installed. We had ours also attached to the ice maker in the refrigerator.

Do your research for the unit you need.

I had Culligan installed in my house, it cost me $25.00 a month. They would come in and exchange the tanks once a month. Sometimes they have free installation promotions.
