If you can hear the valve humming when you press the dispenser then it is likely the tank (coil of tubing) in the bottom of the refrigerator or the line in the door is frozen. (common -more so if you have it set real cold).
If you can’t hear the buzz then the dispenser switch, control, or the valve is likely bad.
I’m not sure on yours but some had a triple valve, one before the filter and two had to open to run water.
its possible the water supply to the fridge is off, clogged check the connection where the water supply line connects to the back of the fridge if its not that go the website for GE and find your model and view or print up the trouble shooting section
As mentioned, first check that the water supply is getting to the fridge, and be doubly sure it isn’t sending water under the fridge or between the walls! I doubt the filter would be the prob. The little pipe from the valve to the fridge could have been pinched, especially if the unit has been moved recently.
1 – did you removed the plug on the new filter?
2 – is the new filter in 100%
if the filter is not in fully then you wont get water out
This may sound really basic but make sure the switch is fully in position. If mine is just a bit off, after switching from ice, the water doesn’t work.
