Please Help! ? about water in babies bottles?
I have been giving my son (5 weeks old) distilled water from a jug that i buy at kroger to mix with his formula.
My question is.. if i buy a PUR water filter that goes onto my faucet can i use that to mix his formula with and then put it in the bottle warmer or do they not get the flouride out? Im so confused
i know they need fluoride in their water but AFTER they are 4 months old.. until then its a no no (according to my drs) Basically im wondering if a water filter will filter out the fluoride

when my children were baby’s and grand-kids we just gave them tap water – it had fluoride in it – we never gave them bottle water , I don’t know why people think they have to use bottle water unless your water is bad.
All are in good health today.
But yes I would think you could use a water filter with no problems.
Well you WANT flouride in their water or their teeth will not develop healthy. where I live, they don’t put flouride in the drinking water, so we have to get it prescribed. But if you live in an area where your drinking water (by that, I mean tap) isn’t the best, I would buy the PUR. It wont filter out flouride, just all the gross things you don’t want to be drinking.
Really its up to you hun! Back in the olden days no one had purified water and everyone for the most part is a ok!! If the water doesnt make you sick then you should be fine. The purifier on their would be even better! I always just boiled my babys bottle and their all GREAT, STRONG, AND HEALTHY!!
I would get the filter, that way you know they are drinking clean water…. don’t give them the tap water without a filter because you don’t know what chemicals are in it or other bad stuff…. Get the filter and filter out the bad stuff…that’s what I did. I never warmed my son’s baby bottles but I would mix the formula with the filtered water…It has fluoride in it. There is no reason you have to buy bottled water to mix with the formula but if you want to you can, it’s totally up to you, just in that case make sure you buy the stuff with the fluoride in it…. Really it all depends on how much money you want to spend… filters are expensive but so is buy bottled water and formula…. And of course formula is really expensive unless you’re on WIC. Good luck whatever you decide!
