She is a dog. Any water.
I hate to break it to you, but she’s going to get tear stains anyway… you just need to make sure you keep her eye area clean by wiping it off gently with a soft damp cloth every day. Whatever water you drink yourself, give the same to your puppy. Good luck
Tap water.
"After an extensive 2 year test on 15 different Maltese of different ages from different bloodlines, the results showed that tap water vs bottled water made absolutely no difference in the amount of tear stain."
I’m not too familiar with malteses, but you get almost no use from distilled water. Everything has been taken out of it. It doesn’t even hydrate very well at all. It’s not even recommended for humans to drink it. You can to stay alive, but there are better options.
Best thing to do is to call a vet’s office. Usually with little things like this, they will let you know over the phone for free. Often tech’s or the receptionists have come across the answer before too.
It all depends on the level of cuteness.
Filter your water and get a life.
well i set in my contract the pups were to drink spring water until 6 months of age as i kept them on spring water in my care after wheined of cource, due to the fact tap water can sometimes get funny and things happen, my dogs still get spring water but i gave the buyers the option only after 6 months.
Don’t use distilled water. Go for the spring. Spring water will have the minerals your puppy NEEDS. Distilled water will NOT help prevent tear stains.
I personally will not give my dogs tap water. My local water source uses a lot of chemicals also we have some drainage issues in my neighbor hood – it causes the water to run red. (Coloured from ground residue) I’m not going to risk exposing my pups to random pesticides and treatment chemicals. So the dogs and the fish get bottled….I however drink tap myself… Go figure.
