We have jus topped off our pool to ope it for the summer. We have well water. We have had the pool water tested twice and all is good except it is green in color. Thre is no algae, slime or mold in the water an all we can think that it is is the rust in the water. Does anyone know what to add, or what to do to rmove rust from pool water? Thank you.

I will pay a few hundred one time to not have to change this 80 gallon tank weekly (which I don’t do regularly anyhow so the water gets algae infested).
We recently got a 2.5 gallon filtered fish tank from a friend and have 4 goldfish in it. The first day the water is perfectly clear, however, by the second day it is cloudy. No algae, just cloudy water. I have purchased a new "discard-a-stone" and am using the clouride drops for tap water. I have not used any soap to wash it, and there are no live plants in it.
Any suggestions?
The fish tank is about 10 or 20 gallons and I have a filter that is plenty big enough and holds two filter cartridges. I use the anti-cloudy drops and the anti algae drops but it always goes cloudy after a few days. Could it possibly be the fish food?
I have a small aquatic turtle, (he looks like a RES, but without the red marks, not sure what he is.) about a 5 inch shell measurement.
Even keeping up with frequent water and filter cartridge changes, I’m still getting a large buildup of algae, mostly on the edges of his basking rock, and on the turtle’s shell.
I use filtered tap water, and the only chemicals I add are one to remove chlorine, and one to help with waste breakdown. My filter is a regular aquarium filter, rated for 60 gallons. (the tank is a 20 gallon long) I’ve read that the algae destroyers you would use in a regular aquarium could be harmful to turtles, so I’m hesitant to try that. I’ve put a few plants in the tank, but he tends to uproot them and eat them.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to slow the growth of algae in the tank?
I have tried everything to get rid of this algae in my tank, fish, aqua pure filter, use only RO water, light on only 8 hours a day. Only thing left that i heard could work is shutting the lights down for a few days. Will this help, and would it harm my anenome?
everytime i clean it, won’t last for 3-4 days, algae came back?
I wash it regularly and have even used some bleach to try and minimize the algae. If I continually keep water in it, the bottom of the pitcher becomes covered in algae in a few days!
We keep the water at room temperature on the counter.

How do you clean a water turtle’s back?? I have a small water turtle and his back is full of algae.
When I hook up the vacuum on my Intex above ground pool, as i’m trying to vacuum the algae from the bottom, it is just as quickly being sent back in through the return. I have replaced that filter cartridge, and it still does this. Before I can get half wat through vacuuming it, the water is too cloudy to see the bottom. Before I start vacuuming, the water is clear and all the green/brown is on the bottom. Why is the green crud coming back in through the return?
This is an above ground pool with a paper filter cartridge. There is no option on the pump to switch to "waste" and I put shock it in the pool once a week and change the filter once a week.
And since this is a pump with a filter cartridge, not a sand filter, there is no backwash option.
I need to pre-filter water from river before it gets to sediment cartridge filter. I am thinking it will work but am concerned algae nay be a problem and clog backwash sand filter prematurely. Anyone had experience with this? Cartridge filter clogs in about a week so is an expensive problem. Any alternative way of doing this?
Apparently the algae would be a problem in a pool type backwash filter. It would propagate in a warm vessel. Also backwash (with the same supply of water) would only add to the problem. Any other ideas?
Our salt water tank has had alot of algae and I need to take out the fake coral and decorations. What can I use to clean them besides just water?
I shut off both hot and cold water under the sink and then I left both faucets open to depressurize the system. I have tugged and pulled and twisted the damn thing so hard that I’ve pulled a muscle in my back. It has not moved a hair – not a micron.
What am I doing wrong?
It is an under-sink filter with three cartridges.
The worst part is: without filtration, the water may be "safe" but I wouldn’t give it to an enemy. Tastes like chlorinated algae.

Almost every day I have to scrub a green ring out of the bottom of my Brita filter water pitcher. It’s like it’s algae or something, but it grosses me out. How can I stop it?
