I have a 10 gallon tank, with a filter and heater. I was wondering if the water is supposed to be crystal clear like when I first put the water in the tank with the water conditioner & bacteria fighter? Or is it supposed to be slightly cloudy all of the time? I’m on day 4 of the cycling proccess, and I’m supposed to go to Petco for the fish on Friday, so I don’t want the fish to die or anything in my water. Right now it’s slightly cloudy, but the right temperature. Thanks!

My daughter is almost 10. She has had very bad breath for several years now. No amount of brushing has ever helped it. No Dentist ever mentioned it, but then again I never had mentioned it to one of them. I always attributed it to her caps she had put on her molars at a young age from early tooth decay (we at one time lived in the country & had un-floridated well water) She had floride treatments at every dentist visit when we lived there. Now though her capped molars are falling out & she has lost almost all of her "baby" teeth. Yet the bad breath is still there & is getting worse. She hasn’t seen a dentist in 2 years due to money issues at home (my husband makes too much money for gov assistance, yet not enough for us to be able to pay our co-pays…) I insist that she needs to see a dentist, or maybe even a DOCTOR for this problem. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could possibly be, so I might be more convincing in my arguement?
Please dont say infections..It isnt infection
btw, she flosses every day, & brushes at LEAST 2x a day. Doesnt eat much sweets & has a very balanced diet.

I have a slider turtle in a 29 gal. tank. Once a month I do 100% water change. I clean everything with vinager and water. I want to get some Anacharis for the tank. I know the turtle will more than likely eat at it but, will the water changes & cleaning the tank harm the plant?

I have a "Quick&Hot" water dispenser. When I fill a cup with hot water, there are little flecks of something floating around in the water. I assume this is scale from the tank.
Is there a way to get rid of the scale in one of these units? Or, does anyone know of a tankless hot water dispenser that wouldn’t suffer from this?

i’m gonna be with 3 of my friends tonight and we can’t get any more alcohol other than the half a poland spring bottle of vodka & 1/4 of a poland spring bottle of rum.
we’re all 16, and weigh in between 115-160 pounds.
would that be enough to get us drunk?

I use Tide liquid, the bottle says "phosphate free, biodegradable surfactants & enzymes. Safe for septic tanks". Since The plumbing is being worked on for a few weeks, I have to let the wash water drain into a big tub, then we dump it in an unused part of the yard. I hate to waste water, thought maybe I could use it to water the garden?

Thanks!!!!!!

Ok, started off with a gallon of bourbon and added 8 pounds of pitted and skinned peaches. Sat that in a sealed carboy for 3 months and then mixed up a simple sugar compound of equal parts 2 cup honey & 2 cup water / 2 cup brown sugar 2 cup water then filtered and bottled the mixture in clean bottles. I had some of each left over and bottled then in separate containers. So I have 1 container of peach bourbon with honey, 1 of peach bourbon with honey and 1 of peach bourbon with a 50/50 mix of honey and brown sugar.
The pure honey bourbon is fine, the honey / brown sugar is somewhat thicker and the strickly brown sugar bourbon has developed a lava lamp like viscous transparent gel in the center of the bottle. When agitated or shaken it breaks up and has a consistency similar to the honey / brown sugar mix.
I have done the same process with cherries without similar effect so I assume it’s something about peaches and brown sugar?

I’m thinking of buying a Pur water bottle for my grandmother, but I first want to make sure the replacement filters are available in stores. I don’t know if there is like a one-size-fits-all filter, or if there are different filters for every product.
I found the PUR CF100 Filtering Water Cooler Tank on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/CF100-Filtering-Water-Cooler-Tank/dp/B000K6JL5O/sr=8-21/qid=1168843852/ref=sr_1_21/105-1641980-2239627?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden
….it says it comes with "2 model CRF-950 filters," but I can’t find those filters for sale online, which makes me think that they won’t be in stores. I’ve only looked in 2 stores, and the filters I’ve found either don’t match those numbers, or don’t say that they fit that particular cooler.
Does anyone have experience with this water bottle or can you tell me if it will be easy to find replacements or how to know if the filters I see in stores will fit this cooler even though it’s not listed on the box? thanks
Yes, it’s a bottle that is supposed to fit on most coolers. I thought I read somewhere about certain Pur filters being discontinued, so I wanted to see if someone had an opinion on this or some knowledge about it.

We’ve been in our house for 3 years and the two taps in the main floor bathroom (sink & shower) produce a fishy smelling water when first turned on. If we let it run for 10 seconds or so, it goes away. The rest of the taps in the rest of the house (kitchen sink, upstairs sink & bathtub) do not produce odd-smelling water at all. What can be the cause of this? I’d heard that hydrogen sulfide is the main culprit of fishy water, but if that were the case, wouldn’t all the taps have this smell? Also, I’ve thought it might be dry drain, but those 2 taps are the most-used… they’re turned on multiple times a day.

Today we had a new water heater installed. The plumber/installer had to turn the water off temporarily to install the water heater but then he turned it back on. Since the installation (about 9 hrs ago) we’ve noticed that two of our faucets have extremely low water pressure. The rest of the faucets are fine so what is going on? Should I call back the plumbing & heating place that did the install? Why would this happen?

I feel so dumb. I turned off both the cold & hot water to see if it would shut the water off outside (didn’t). But when I turned it back on, no water comes out of the tap on the hot side (kitchen & bathroom!). I keep fiddling with both, along with the valve - it comes on, but doesn’t stay on. Help!
I turned both hot and cold off where they go into the water heater. Cold comes out of faucets just fine. Its the hot I’m having trouble with. When I turn the hot side on at the faucets (all in house), no water at all comes out. Then I fiddle with the hot and cold at the water heater, and hot will come out of the faucet, but only for about 30 seconds-then no water. I’ve also moved the valve lever back and forth (burping?) that is on the cold water supply into the heater.
