For my science research project I am doing how much bacteria grows in a reused water bottle if the bottle is not properly cleaned.
My title is "Bacteria Growth In A Reused Water Bottle- Is It Healthy To Keep Drinking From Them?"
But my science teacher wants me to be more specific about the type of bacteria.

So my question is do you know what specific kind of bacteria would grow in a reused water bottle if not properly cleaned?

I’ve got a bad habit of opening a bottle of water, drinking less than half and leaving it somewhere, then forgetting about it and opening a new one.

I understand after a couple days (especially if left uncapped) this is an all-inclusive party for bacteria growth.

Rather than throwing these half-consumed bottles of water, would an effective treatment be to run them through my PUR or Brita Water pitcher in the fridge?
