My refidgerator has an automatic ice maker/dispenser and water dispenser. Should I throw out all of the ice and disconnect the water line to the refridgerator until the advisory is over? Also, do I need to clean the ice maker and water dispensor by running diluted bleach or something else through it? What do you do when you have boil advisories?

So I cleaned our house water dispenser (the 5gal ones) and i used bleach. After i oiled water and ran it through. I rinsed the dispenser with gallons and gallons of water just to be sure i rinsed all the bleach out. I drank two cups of the water after and i notice my stomach is a little bloated. What harm can the really really small quantity of bleach do in the stomach? Any help please thanks

My daughter asked me why we waste our bath water and the water that is flushed down the drain from our washing machine? She wanted to know if there was a way we could recycle the water and use it to water our lawn or garden? She is learning about going green. Could this water be recycled and used again??

I recently replaced the water filter for the in-door water dispenser on my fridge, yet the water still tastes bad. I emptied 5 gallons of water out after changing the filter but the taste only improved slightly. What could be causing the water to taste bad still?
The filter is in the grille at the base of the fridge (push button type). Bleach will run right out if poured in there.

How/where would I find the water lines to flush out?

I got a water softener recently, and it says in the manual to use bleach to sanitize it from the inside. I find this very harmful to health, since I will be using this water throughout the house. Is it ok to use the bleach? Is there a better alternative I can use that won’t harm my water or softener?

I have a sensitivity to bleach/chlorine that is getting progressively worse. Lately I can’t even drink the local tap water; they’ve added more bleach than usual. I can smell it in the water, and when I get thirsty enough to drink I have severe stomach cramps for hours. Bottled water is NOT an option; how can I make my drinking water safe?

I wash it regularly and have even used some bleach to try and minimize the algae. If I continually keep water in it, the bottom of the pitcher becomes covered in algae in a few days!

We keep the water at room temperature on the counter.

I need to clean my water cooler, i do not want to use bleach so vinegar is the option, but how much should i use, should i unplug it, should i try flushing it thourh hot, warm and cold spouts and how much water should i flush through?

I know you cannot use soap in the jug since it could leave a residue in your refilled drinking water. I assume you use a bit of bleach and cold water to clean your water jug… does anyone know the amount? and the exact way to safely do this?

I was also told a while back of a way to refresh the water jug with baking soda (this is a side question – but not the main one!)…

the jugs are one gallon drinking water jugs that have never been used for anything besides water. We have a local station where we can fill jugs of spring water for 25cents. I have about 15 jugs and would like to use the station – but not before my jugs are sanitized.

I have brown water stains on the ceiling in my kitchen caused by a leak around a vent stack on the roof. I have repaired the leak and now need to clean up the evidence before we sell the home. I really don’t want to paint the whole ceiling as it goes into the breakfast nook and living room. I also don’t want to deal witn trying to match the paint and do a touch up. I put straight bleach on it and it removed 70% of the stain. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a way to tell when to change the filters in my drinking water system? Also, is is really necessary to use the bleach/water solution to clean the holding tank and filter holders, or is it good enough to just changed the filters?
