Recently, I’ve noticed the local funeral director, Casey Culligan, hanging around my g/f Thelma (pronounced El-mah). He is so sleazy. He reminds me of a snake. Thelma has been spitting tobacco juice on his shoes lately, because I noticed a huge splotch on his loafers. It has me worried. He is constantly sitting on her no-account brother’s lawn chair, feigning interest in her plastic pink flamingo set. Like he cares!! I see her toothless grin and I feel so jealous of that darned funeral director. I’m just worried that the backseat of the rusted out old Pontiac Parisienne will soon have his butt on it instead of mine. Should I do something about this threat to my happiness??

OK…I recently broke up with my white trailer trash g/f Thelma (pronounced El-Mah) when she started giving her action to Casey Culligan, the local funeral director. However, with Casey’s recent rectal illness, Thelma as been getting lonely. This afternoon, we got it on in the Pontiac Parissiene again (the back seat) and the cylinder blocks were a rocking. After the fourth time, I just kind of lost interest in her when I was looking at her closely. The things that used to attract me, like her sunken eyes, her toothless grin, the adorable black roots in her blonde hair, even the way she spit tobacco sweetly….well, they were a source of irritation. It seems like the infatuation has finally worn off. But—now she thinks we are an item again. Even her no-account brother was grinning and giving me high fives. Now I have to just get away from her. In fact, I have been missing Simone (pronounced Sea-mahn), my old g/f a lot lately. How do I dump Thelma eloquently??

My brother-in-law told me I should let my faucets drip since the weather is getting so cold now (9 degrees). I’m concerned if this will put too much strain on the pressure bladder, well pump or water softener. My pipes are in the attic because I am on a slab house. Our well is 70 feet down. We just bought this house last year and remodeled it. We also blew in extra insolation in the attic last year too.
I don’t know if it’s because the weather is getting so cold or if it’s because we are keeping a constant drip, but when we turn on the faucets in the morning, at first, the water blows out kinda hard out of the faucet. Is that due to overuse of the baldder and well pump because we have the water on a constant drip to prevent pipes freezing or is it because of the cold weather?
Thanks!

I live in a hurricane zone where flooding is natural because of a valley. It is now hurricane season. The situation in Missouri,Ohio, and some of the states that got flooded[by rivers] has heightened my awareness of the need for a water purification system.Bottled water is expensive[about for 5 gallons] and we drink 20 gallons or more easily in a week. We got a Culligan system with a pitcher but it needed filters. We never figured out how to install the under the tap Culligan[ and my brother is both intelligent and good with his hands]. I have searched the internet but I do not want to spend money on something that is advertised as the best but complex to use or expensive [needing filters every 4-6 weeks]].We need a system that will give a warning when the filter needs changing. Is there anyone who uses a ‘great’ system or who can give some suggestions? We want to be prepared for any emergency. Help!
