I’ve heard people say that drinking hot water is better for you than drinking cold water because the hot water cleanses your body. But how is that possible? Because I would think that whatever you drink would become the same temperature as your stomach once it gets there. It’s not like that ice cold water is going to go all through your veins.

In your hot water heater you can set the temperature of your hot water but what is the temperature of your cold water?
Charles is on the right track, I want to know the temperature of "YOUR" water. Way to go Doc wish I could double your thumbs up.

I just bought and got a PUR dispenser. It says that I need to change the filter once every 6 weeks…and that would be on Feb 14. But right now it is not filtering. Why isn’t it filtering? I never use hot water with it. Is it possible my water is actually SO "dirty" that the filter is gone already. It doesn’t have the little light on it to tell me. Is there some way I can check it or should I just take it apart and run some cold water through it?

I attempted to turn off the valves under the sink so I could install a new faucet but the hot water valve handle broke off. The cold water side is fine. I turned off the water on the outside of the house which seems to have worked except for the broken hot water valve. Hot water is constantly running. How do I get it to stop?

My side by side refrigerator has never dispensed cold water, always room temperature. I called Frigidaire today and they told me that their water dispensers do not cool the water. It just doesn’t me sense to me that a fridge would dispense room temperature water. Does anyone have a Frigidaire that dispenses cold water?

We had a leak in the bathroom so we called a plummer. He determined that it was the hot water that was leaking so he went to the water heater and turned off the hot water supply to the whole house until we’re able to get it fixed. The only problem is we can get cold water everywhere except the shower. There’s no water at all coming out. Can anyone tell me how that can be fixed?

Why do they make water filters like Brita that remove chlorine but not fluorine, it’s only one element away on the periodic table!
Is it so much to ask?
What about dechlorinating showerheads?
(my hot/cold water is brown/green from rust/copper patina)

Our water smells of sulfur really bad. We have a cartridge filter that has to replaced every two weeks, that’s how quick the smell comes back! The smell is in the hot and cold water. Oddly enough the water that comes from the hose outside smells and taste fine? Any ideas?

In some countries, hot water is generated in houses by heating large cylinders of water. Quite often, this is done late at night when demand for electricity is low, called off peak heating. The cylinders are connected to the main water supply and so operate at main pressure. But how do they manage to keep the hot water from being diluted by cold water when a hot tap is opened?

I can be taking a nice, relaxing shower and -BAM!- someone flushes a toilet in another bathroom and the hot water vanishishes. It stays cold until the toilet tank is refilled (about a minute or two). Why does the toilet need my hot water? It’s a cold water device!
I’ve been in other showers at other’s houses, and the water becomes scolding when a toilet is flush. THAT, to me makes more sense, because the toilet is drawing away cold water for itself, leaving nothing but hot. But that’s not the case in my house. Why?

First time home owner so everything is new to me. I have an older home that had a water hose still connected to the cold water when I had the washing machine installed. The delivery guys were unable to remove it, and I haven’t had much luck either. Does anyone know how this can be done, if possible, or do I need to call in the professionals?

Even inside of the home the water feels very warm when the cold water faucets are opened and running for a while. On the outside of the home the water feels very warm even after running it for a long time. Is this how the system works or do I have a problem. I think I am wasting so much energy and wondering if there is remedy for this and who is the best person to call for repair. Thank you, I appreciate your time and assistance.
