The Bathroom Faucet valve on the Hot water suplly line is stuck and needs replaced.
My water heater has a shut off valve on the cold water intake side but not on the hot water going out side.
Would I just shut the cold side off on the heater and run some hot water to stop the flow of hot water thru the house?

I really dislike water, I don’t know if its just me being weird but I think it has a weird taste.
Yes I know most of you will be like water doesn’t have a taste but it does to me.
The problem is, I want to like it because I want to attempt to drink the recommended daily amount. At the moment all I do is drink soft drinks, with the odd drinks of milk.
I don’t want to add anything to the water, no flavorings or anything, I want it to be pure.
I think that ice cold water tastes a lot better than room temperature or warm. But I don’t like it enough to think, oh I’m thirsty I want to drink some water.
It’s pretty much ‘Oh I’m thirsty lets grab a can of coke’
I know the health benefits of water, and I want to be able to drink it because I want it. At the moment it’s me drinking it because I’m forcing myself to.
I was thinking maybe I could buy a water filter in attempt to make the water taste better.
What do you reckon?
What can I do to make it taste better and to get myself to actually want to drink it?

I just bought a 47 gallon column fish tank, now I know that wet/dry filters are used for salt water tanks, however I’m using my tank for cold water fancy tosakin goldfish. I heard that wet/dry filters are the best, even better than canister filters and if you build it yourself it is much cheaper. I am wondering should (and CAN I) build a wet/dry for my tank or should I go ahead and shell out 200+ dollars for an Eheim 100+ gallon canister filter?

This occurs in hot and cold water, so the hot water heater is not the cause. Bleaching the well provides only a temporary solution.

I was filling a jug of water and left the water stream going slowly while i went to do other things when i came back i notice that instead of turning the cold water on i had turn the hot water on. Now is there anything wrong with the water filter? Is it damaged? I’m using a PUR sink mounted water filter. I looked up what would happen if you where to run hot water through and all it said was that it would decrease the effectiveness of the filter. Should I replace the filter?

I live in a penthouse which is on the 23rd floor of a city highrise. The last couple months I’ve noticed the kitchen tap water smelling like rotten eggs. The bathroom sink & shower seem to be fine. The hot & cold water come from the same faucet & both smell, although the hot water smells worse. If i let the water run for a minute the smell seems to go away. Is there anyway i can remove the smell myself or do i have to contact the city water department ?

…but one puts out cold water and the other hot water. I want to know how this works. Is the water in the jug room temperature? What controls the hot and cold temperatures of the water?
This may seem like a dumb question, but I really have no idea how it works. Can anyone inform me?
Here is a picture of the cooler I’m talking about, if I’ve confused you.

I’m not interested in buying one, it’s just that my dad’s office used to have one and I could never figure out how it worked.

I have had an ice mountain water cooler since about 2001, and it has worked fine. Now im guessing that the inside is dirty or something because now when i push the knob down the water from both the hot water and cold water does not come out as quickly as it should. WHAT TO DO??

I am not even sure where I got this information from or who even told me. Its just been a nagging question
So if anyone knows – does drinking water while eating your food (ice cold water) flush away the vitamins and minerals that are to be found in your food?
Thanks

I just got a betta fish ( I named it Swimmie). I have it’s home and I have the water conditionor. I used bottled water that was already room temperature and then I added about 1 cup of cold water from my Brita because I ran out of bottle water. Its been about 12 hours and I haven’t put swimmie in it’s home yet because the water is cold to my touch. Do they like cold or warm water?

Our 13 month old son keeps turning on the cold water on our water cooler (the hot has a childproof faucet on it, thankfully.) I can’t seem to find any way to childproof the cold or block it off from his little hands.

How is hot water different from cold water in terms of clothes shrinking in the wash? What is it about hot water that makes them shrink?
