I use reusable water bottles, but they get a lot of dirt up in the screw top lid. What is the best way to clean the lids and get into all the ridges so it is nice and clean?

Why does my water taste like dirt?

I am 18 weeks pregnant, and for the last few days everytime I drink water it tastes like dirt. It doesn’t matter the source of the water, whether its tap water, bottled watter, or Brita filtered. I know this is really weird but I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Any explanations would be appretiated. Thanks.

Steps to get pure salt from rock salt?

I’m stuck on my science homework & need a little help. It says:
"The steps necessary to get pure salt from rock salt are listed below, but they are all mixed up.
Copy out the steps in the correct order:
Rock salt (a mixture of salt, sand and dirt) is crushed into small pieces.
The mixture is filtered
The solution is evaporated gently to leave dry salt.
Only the pure salt dissolves.
The mixture is warmed and stirred
The salt solution passes through the filter paper
Water is added to the mixture
The sand and dirt are trapped in the filter paper"

Can someone help me put them in the right order, cause I have no idea, lmao.

Brita Water Bottle With a Filter?

I was wondering if this water bottle can filter out dirt and bacteria particles. Also, is it better than the Katadyn MyBottle Water Purifier?
– And, has anyone had good results with this product?

What is the best water filter bottle?

I’m going on a road + hiking trip and wanted to buy a water bottle with a filter. I want one that you can make lake, river, any kind of water drinkable. I need it to filter bacteria, chemicals, dirt, etc. I also need it to last for at least 6 months (8 cups a day at least). My bf and I both need one (or share one but then it needs to have 16 cups a day for 6 months).

Which bottle is most efficient and affordable?
Thanks!

Recently bought a house and it has a tile counter-top in the bathroom vanity. The grout around the sink is brown (supposed to be white) from dirt, not being cleaned. Is there any way to clean the grout and then seal it?

There was a water main break near my building a few days ago (5/7). The pipe was repaired on the same day. I tried drinking my tap water that night and it tasted like it had dirt in it. Since then I have been drinking bottled water as a substitute. Can you tell me how long it will take until the tap water is drinkable again?
There was no boil advisory issued. I only took a few sips of the water and dumped it out of the bottle that I use to drink it.

How to water plants in a backyard?

I know this must sound like such a stupid question, but I’m currently house sitting for a friend. He has a huge backyard filled with potted plants and non potted. It hit 106 degrees here today and I know I have to water, but I’ve never had plants (apartment dweller) and just want to know: Whats the best way to water all the plants with a hose? How much water do the plants need? Am I suppose to use a light stream for the potted plants so as to avoid knocking dirt out?

Thanks for any help you might give!

What would make my tap water smell…?

What would make the water out of my kitchen faucet smell like dirt? I suspect it could be a leak somewhere, but there’s no debris coming out with the water. Just the smell. I use a Pur filter, but even with it turned on I can still smell the dirt. I rent my house and I’m not too sure my landlord wants to be digging up water pipes.
I am on city water. And it smells like dirt, not sulphur. It’s only from the kitchen tap and nowhere else.

We have a project due and I need to know what materials to use for making the filter. My teacher will be putting in various substances such as : Ketchup, mustard, relish, dirt, oil, etc. He wants us to make a filter so we can make the water "Drinkable".

I’m looking to add a water feature around our firepit which is 48" round. Is there a way to have the liner, which would line the dirt surrounding the cement firepit, pump water from the liner to a pvc tube that runs up the middle of the firepit wall? Essentially what I need to do is be able to pump water from inside the liner to outside the liner without it leaking (ie. the pvc tube running up the middle of the firepit would not be inside the liner). Is this possible?
I have posted a picture to help understand what I’m trying to do.

One additional question I have is, how can I attach the liner to the concrete footing of the firepit?

i recently found a 5 gallon jug of fermented cider in my basement. (yeah) the only problem is, it appears as though the air lock broke off some time ago, and i’ve tasted it, it is literally dirty.(as in there is dirt in in it) is their some way to filter this stuff? would a common water filter life pur or brita work? would it still be safe to drink if i did?
sorry for typos, i ment clean/filter, and i meant like, not life.

Why is the water coming out dirty?

I haven’t used this tub in my house for… months and months. Now, when I turn it on, the water runs yellow/brown/brick colored. I’ve cleared out the cold water tap, it’s running clear now. But the hot water keeps running a yellowish color and leaves behind some sort of dirt. Should I just keep it running longer then till it clears out too?
