They tell us not to drink faucet water after a catastrophe such as an earthquake or sometimes there is no water at all (native to Los Angeles and have been through a few major shakers)…but if you put the water through a Brita, Culligan or PUR pitcher 4 or 5 times wouldn’t that be safe to drink?
Thanks for links!

If I’m buying bottled water for use after a flood, fire, earthquake, alien invasion, etc, should I choose distilled water or spring water? How long will it last before I have to throw it away and buy a new supply? If it’s stored in my garage, and it gets to 90F there, will that prematurely "spoil" the water?

How long can I keep clean tap water sealed in my pantry before going bad?
I have a plastic gallon tub that I store emergency water (earthquake, tornadoes, etc). I always boil tap water and put it into a clean container in my pantry (aka cool dry place). How long can that last before the water should be tossed?
