What are some of the best brands? Do they make the water taste better? What are your experiences with one? Where I live, we’ve been going through a super long drought, so the lake has pretty much reached the bottom where all the sediments are. It tastes horrible. So do you think it’d be a good investment? Thank you?

I will probably only fill it up once per day and although I know I need to replace them frequently I wasn’t sure if they say to replace them monthly, was a marketing ploy to make you spend more.
If you have one, what are your thoughts and experiences?
Thanks,

I would rather purchase an expensive high quality water filter system than a cheap, poor quality water filter that constantly needs to be replaced.Do any of you have specific experiences with the diverse water filters available in the market?(my buget it 0.00 American dollars!
In my 10 gallon fish tank I only have 6 fancy guppies, and dont want to have to be cleaning the fish tank alot!(Once a month would be ok with me)

Has anyone had to return products after Culligan did the installing? The 00.00 + system didn’t eliminate our bacteria. That is reason enough to return it I imagine. Anyone have bad experiences or good with issues like this?

I currently have a Culligan Iron Cleer unit, and it has been effective in removing iron, but also is very noisy and becomes clogged with the ‘mud’ that comes out of our well.
Any experiences that anyone can share with different models of iron filter would be appreciated. Especially if you have >5ppm of iron in your well water.

I installed a whole house Whirlpool water softener at my house a couple months ago. Ever since then I have noticed that after washing with soap (we use Irish Spring Bar Soap) the skin is left with an oily residue. But washing with liquid soap does not. I am just trying to understand what this means and if there is a way to get rid of the oily residue. Any experiences and remedies.

Dasani has these (relatively) new unsweetened lightly flavored waters… i’ve been drinking them lately and really enjoy the taste. It may just be my imagination, though, but i seem to not feel well later on, on days when i drink the water.
The ingredients are filtered water, natural flavors and citric acid.
None of that can make you sick, huh?
Anyone have any experiences with this beverage?

Plastic bottled water is odious to me and absurdly bad for the environment. Possible options are buying Brita or Pur filters, or installing a water filter into my kitchen faucet. I am not very rich so I was thinking of using those conventional pitchers with filters. Another option is ordering Arrowhead and using a dispenser, but is that eco-friendly? I hear some sketchy stuff about "Spring Water" too. Any good/bad experiences with water filtration systems?

I’m looking for something that really works well. A purifier, not just a filter. Something .2 micron (or smaller) and with a built-in way to automatically chemically treat the water (iodine/chlorine etc). There are several on the market and I’m looking for other peoples experiences and opinions. Something that could be used full time for weeks at a time on long trips where your only water source is creeks and lakes and in countries with questionable tap water.
