Distilled Water?
I heard somewhere you can get it by the drips from the faucet or something like that, but I need to confirm it. How else can you get it besides buying it. Please help!

About a month and a half ago I changed the well pump pressure switch and also the water heater. It had been working fine. Now it seems like when you use a faucet or flush the toilet the water pressure will rise and fall .The water never cuts out at all, just a few seconds of strong pressure that subsides and lower pressure for a few seconds again. The well pump is only running when water is used. Why would this be happening?
i bought 3 months ago i replaced my faucet and the lite stopped working.
i look around but couldnt find an answer…because i had one that didnt need to have cartridges replaced and such but it broke recently….
so whats the best faucet water filter? that you dont have to replace it with cartridges? or it takes a long while before you have to replace them?
THanks In Advance : )
Do UNOPENED replacement cartridges for PUR water filters expire? (The pitcher kind, not the faucet refill.)
I’ve had a PUR replacement cartridge (unopened, sealed in original package) in my closet for 3 years. Can I use it, or do you think it has expired? (The box is all beat up, so if there was an expiration date, it must have been rubbed off.)
Thanks in advance!
which side does the shower head pipe go…and which side for the mixer/faucet/tap…
when i put the mixer pipe on the left where the red button is and shower on the other side(according to diagram on box) the water pressure is very little…
when i put shower on left and tap/mixer on right water pressure is fine….
please tell me how you use it….
and what is the red button for…?
thanks
Hi..thanks for replying…
i was looking at the filter cartridge inside the housing and it seems to me that a filter should filter water no matter which side the water entered and left from, top or bottom.. correct …??
the right side goes to the inlet on the top, through the cartridge and filters out at the bottom and then into the surrounding capsule … and the left side gets its feed from the surrounding capsule which then goes to the shower head….
this configuration allows good water presssure unlike the reverse configuration, the one illustrated on the carton/box…
the reverse config seems a little unlikely, where it has to push water up the filter…
also…the way to recharge it is to pass salt through it,from the top….so i figured that even for normal operation, the inlet to the filter cartridge would be the top…
I live in a penthouse which is on the 23rd floor of a city highrise. The last couple months I’ve noticed the kitchen tap water smelling like rotten eggs. The bathroom sink & shower seem to be fine. The hot & cold water come from the same faucet & both smell, although the hot water smells worse. If i let the water run for a minute the smell seems to go away. Is there anyway i can remove the smell myself or do i have to contact the city water department ?
Our well water comes out of the faucet blueIsh in color and leaves stains on our tubs and toilets. I am curious what would cause it. The water has been tested and it is within safety standards.
I just moved into an apartment and the water is awful. When it first comes from the faucet, it tastes fine but smells like metal or rust, but then after leaving it out for a while, it tastes metallic. Would getting a faucet or water pitcher filter give me safe drinking water? Should I start buying bottled water instead of a filter?
This is in Richardson, TX
Our 13 month old son keeps turning on the cold water on our water cooler (the hot has a childproof faucet on it, thankfully.) I can’t seem to find any way to childproof the cold or block it off from his little hands.
so the doctor told us we could start giving my 9 week old son water but i was wondering what type of water should i give him. for his formula i use the gerber pure water that comes in gallon. i was wondering if i could give him the gerber pure water directly? water from the faucet that should be boiled? or water from our kitchens water filter?
also i dont want to give him more water then what i am suppose to. so at 9 weeks how much oz. of water should i be giving him?
my sons dr. said it was ok for him to drink water especially because he suffers from constipation. also my mother and other family members gave their kids water when they were babies and there was never a problem. they would give them an ounce during each feeding.
How stupid can people be? I suppose soda and fruit juices are a much better choice of beverage for your kids. Doesn’t anyone realize that if your kids are brushing their teeth everyday with a fluoride toothpaste that they’re getting plenty of daily decay protection. I would rather give my kids bottled water, then the stuff coming out of the faucet, god only knows what could be in that. I suppose I could just attached water filters at every sink in the house.
the box which is GE made says you dont need any tools which is what I did for the kitchen sink faucet (easy). But I can’t remove the shower head ,and I don’t want to crush it with pliers can any one help?
My Brita Faucet Filter has gotten some build-up in the creases (on the exterior, not part of the filtration system). The switch that you use to switch from filtered to regular water has so much build-up that I can barely change it. The build-up in the creases is kind of a brownish-orange.
I’ve soaked it in vinegar but the problem still exists. My wife wants to WD-40 the switch! Any better ideas?
I’m pretty sure it’s a reverse osmosis system, the type with the separate faucet over the sink that dispenses filtered water.
I would really like us to be able to use it, but ever since we bought this house 8 months ago, we haven’t known whether it’s safe to use, and have no idea who to call to inspect it. I don’t think a plumber would have any idea about water filters, would they?
