I saw a water ionizer for sale that looked like a water filter that ran on electric and hooked up to a sink faucet… How do I ionize my own water without having to by the expensive ionizer? How dose this thing work ? What do i have to do to the water?

I have a 2 year old kenmore fridge that has the water filter cannister in the bottom. The water tastes and smells bad. I thought it was the PUR filter and I replaced it. It still is same. I then took out filter and flushed system(its a plastic tube coiled up behind the crisper). It still tastes and smells bad. Is it the line coming from under the faucet that connects to the fridge or the line inside the fridge or the water intake pump bad? I really flushed it good twice but the taste/smell comes back. I have seen water dispensers that circulate the water and maintains water in the dish. The filters and unit needs to be changed/cleaned and it might get dirty (with debris) as the water keeps circulating from the base to the reservoir.
I was wondering if there is a unit where the water pours into a bowl from a bottle only when the bowl is below a certain level and the water does not over flow. And the water does not circulate from the bowl to the bottle. Similar to a water cooler, but with a sensor that starts and stops the water flow based on the water level in the dish. That way, the water in the reservoir/bottle is always fresh and no filters are needed.
The ones in the stores cirulate the water and needs to be cleaned often as a film might form. Is there any water dispensor that doesnt not circulate the water? It just pours like from a faucet into a dish based on a water level sensor?
i am starting to drink alot more water and need to have it going through a filtering system first to purify. i’ve had the pitchers that want you to change filters on every time to turn around and not sure about the ones that hook onto the sink faucet so is there anything else out here that people like other than buying bottled
I trying to stop the water from running, I tried stopping it with clothes but nothing worked. so right now I have so the water will run into the ground under the house. will this make the water bill high, I really hope this doesn’t show up on the water bill. this isn’t the same as running water out the faucet is it?

What is with this artificially flavored, vitamin, colored water crap all over the place with calories that encourage you to drink while working out. I saw this fruit flavored thing you add to the PUR water filters you attach to the faucet, so is that necessary? What, regular water doesn’t cut it anymore? Too much need for sugar or something??
And most of them do not taste great either!

My husband would prefer NOT to have a separate faucet line for filtered water, so we would need an in-line drinking water filter for our kitchen sink. He would also prefer NOT to have to depend on a plumber to install it.
