We use well water. Recently our pressure tank quit working and we had to replace it. Now we have calcium deposits in the main water line coming into the house. This calcium is clogging up our cold water line and the faucets in the house do not work good. The hot water comes into the house really good, but we are concerned that we are getting large deposits of calcium in our hot water heater. What can I do to resolve this problem?

Yesterday, we discovered that the water pressure for all our faucets was extraordinarily low. After consultation with a plumbing company, it turned out that the membrane for water softener literally disintegrated into numerous microscopic BBs, almost like sand, and is now floating in the pipes. Apparently, this incident is not covered in our insurance plan.
What would be the most cost effective or least hassle-less solution?
*most hassle-less

i want to know about the faucets in Egypt and how they will work with my Brita filter. Do I need an adapter? Will plumbers there be able to help me put it on?

We have nickel faucets in all our bathrooms. They are only 4 years old and have a white looking rust around some of the edges. How can I repair them?

Yesterday the inspection on the house we have a contract on to buy said that both of the two sink faucets in the master bathroom wouldn’t turn on for the cold water.
The hot water worked fine in both, but not the cold. The faucets appear to be original 1980 faucets. could they be "frozen" shut by mineral deposits over the years? The cold water supply was on.

Does dripping your faucets to prevent busting pipes apply to older homes (15 years or older) only or should you do the same in newer homes?

We just got a new house this week, it’s older probably built in the 50′s or 60′s.
We turned on the bath tub and inky black water came out of the faucet, same thing happened when we turned on the faucets in both bathroom sinks and when you flush the toilet the tank fills with black water.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this and how to fix it?
Thanks
we let it run for a looong time and it’s still black.

The Temperature is supposed to be between 24-30 degrees overnight. I’m never sure when I should start and stop the faucets from dripping. I live in a very small 2 story townhouse. Should I also have multiple faucets dripping at once?

I’ve never hooked up a washing machine. Do I have to turn the hot and cold faucets on, and leave them on, or does the washing machine pull water on its own from the faucets?

It doesn’t do anything when I put it on my skin or on the counter top, but if I get a little bit of it around the sink faucets, or the drain, it goes crazy! What causes it to do this?

Removal of the aerator does not help. No one touched the supply valves, the other faucets have normal flow, all pipes are copper. Flow was normal for the first year or two. This time of year the supply water is much colder than it has been, but well above freezing. Should I disassemble the faucet and look for anything? Some adjustment?
I apologize now that I see the question is ambiguous. The flow has already reduced, I am not hasing how to reduce it. Sorry!

I live in Central TX where it rarely freezes. When it does, I have heard that water needs to be dripping from a faucet to avoid the pipes freezing. My mom told me that she heard it didnt need to be done. Any suggestions? To drip or not to drip? Do outside faucets need to be covered?
