How would I make "flavored" water at home like the Aquafina or Desani brands? Also, I don't have a water?
filter system like you see on tv. Thanks.

Can anyone help. I have a fairly substantial size pond and I have quite a new UV Cleaning Filter system. When I purchased the unit, the person at the shop said that I was not to clean out the foam in the unit as it needed to get "full of algae" etc in order for it to work correctly. However, the unit seems to be quite clogged and is not pumping the water out of the hoses back into the pond at the same rate it was when I turned it on from new. Am I doing something wrong. I have changed the UV Filter and the pump pumping the water into the unit is clear. Do I need to clean it out?? My Pond water is particularly green
I work at wally-world aka: wal-mart and I had a customer come in and was looking for liquid chlorine to put into his home water system that connects to his house and that they where drinking the water I told him that I never heared of one that used chlorine and all of the customers that I know of use salt for there filter system and I was wondering is there a chlorine water system out there and if so how much do you use in it.
…water output no longer filtered?
I use the PUR filters in my refrigerator and on my kitchen tap for water. The indicator lights will change from green to red in 45-60 days after a filter replacement, but the water will keep flowing for another 60-90 days before the filter completely clogs up, and then I have to replace the filter. During the period when the light is red, is the water still being purified? My guess is that it is.
I use a similar filter system when I go hiking, and the instruction manual states that the filter will only output clean filtered water and can be used up until it is completely clogged. But the data on the home filters only say to replace the filter immediately after the light goes red. I think they just want to sell more filters.
Will a filtration system do to take the salt/sodium out of the water from useing a salt based water softener or does it have to be an RO system. would one like like this filter system do’? GE® Dual Stage Drinking Water Filter, GNSV70FBL I don’t want to run my water bill way up and waste so much water like RO does.
I have well water and want to use a filter system to attach to my faucet. Does any one know which one might be better? Thanks
I give my dogs water from the kitchen sink which also has a filter. We can not invest in a LARGE filter system at this time. Is it safe to give my dogs this water? What about cooking in it?
Seems as though it has high levels of iron or calcium.
I have a MultiPure under the sink filter system that had a new filter replaced a year ago. The filter is supposed to last through about 750 gallons of water (or something around there). Either way, I have used it for less than half that amount in the past year. The manufacturer says to replace the filter yearly, but they are expensive considering I don’t use that much filtered water. (It was installed by the previous owners.)
Is it still safe to use filtered water through the existing filter until I really need to change it? Will it cause any harm?
Thanks for any help.
I really like to mix juice with soda water, but on top of lugging the big bottle home as well as the apple juice, not to mention the extra cost, any at home methods, techniques for making low-cost soda water using water from my filter system. Thanks in advance for sharing.
we have 60m of professionally installed purple sub-surface irirgation piping. we are in Perth and our soil is basically pure sand 15m above the watertable. the piping seemed to become clogged with soil within around 6 months with the result that it no longer works and the pump is just continually cycling the water around the piping loop with hardly any dripping out into the soil.
is this a common experince?
if so it seems that the piping is not really fit for purpose.
our experince would certainly not encourgae anyone to adopt a professional grey water system. very disappinted and want to ask for our money back (,500) or ask the installer to replace the pipe with one that doesn’t clog. the grey water system has a 2 filter system (micro and macro) and we clean these regularly so the problem is not it seems that particles/lint in the grey water are clogging the system

Does anyone who owns a PUR filter system run into this problem before? And how did you get the light to go back on?
Now I need help with the filters. It’s a 35 gal salt water tank that was a fresh water tank not filled yet. I was told I could use a Bio wheel, but after looking into it they seem to have alot of faults, as the wheel stops turning from time to time, and if you loose power and the wheel dries out you’re screwed. I have a Aqua Pure 200 that is rated very good for all 3 types of filtering that I used on my fresh water tank that worked very well. I know the filter system in a salt water tank is somewhat different then fresh, but I was told again that the AP200 along with a powerhead would be fine for that size tank, was I informed right? To set up my tank I plan on using the sand sold in the store, and live rock, then let it cycle for a few weeks. Is that enough to get the Bio going? Or do I need to do anything else? I was also told I do not need air stones in a salt tank as I did in fresh water tank as long as I have a powerhead?
New to site, not sure how to respond to your answers, Help
Mainly I just don’t want to taste the chlorine in tap water, and better tasting coffee. Which type will remove most of the junk, filter system or purifier? Or are other factors more important to consider. Please answer if you can speak from actual knowledge or experience.
I had my tank for about two years now… have a yellow tang and two clown living happily.
Two questions that I can’t figure out even though I search everywhere! Please help!
1. After a short-while I started the tank, this guy at fish shop told me regular filter (mechanical, chemical + bio-wheel) is not useful to saltwater tank and he suggested cutting out top portion of filter (so water don’t drop into reservoir) and put undergraval sand on bottom of reservoir (2 inch deep) and put pieces of hard corals where water shoots out (in the middle of filter).
He said this is best cuz this is more natural… IS THIS CORRECT? or did I make horrible mistake by following wrong advice?
(although fishes are healthy and living well) by the way, that’s the only filter system I have.
2. I recently purchased coral (one where hands looking thing keep closing and opening) and they suggested Marine Snow for food and four pack of Iodine, Ion Magnesium, Calcium, and Trontium (made by Reef Pure)
Are these necessary? or are they just trying to make more money off of me?
Please help!!! and let me know if you need more info~
P.S: While my fishes are healthy, I had trouble with corals or annanome in the past… they wouldn’t live long.. T.T and look weak. All my reading are fine… except that Alkalinity is little lower than normal.
I have JBJ light system that’s made of two regular light tubes and two blue light tubes… I spent 0 for that light system designed for coral…(model: PL-JG3)
we operate our own rain water catchment system, complete with water pump, pressure tank, filter system, and paloma hot water heater. Our big 4000 gallon tank is located outside, and with winter fast approaching here in southeast alaska, we need to find the best solution for insulating that intake pipe. the use of heat tape seems inevitable, but it will use a tremendous amount of power (we run a diesel generator, which proves to be very expensive)
