I just a bought a vitapur water dispenser and cold water comes out of it perfectly fine but no hot water is coming from it. why?
Because I use a Culligan Water treatment system I get a rotten egg smell from the hot water, I guess from reaction to the MagRod.
Our electric company has a program in which they install a device on the water heater that lets them shut it off for 6 hours at a time, if necessary, during peak demand times. In exchange, they give a 2% discount on the total electric bill.
We’re trying to decide if this is a wise decision, or if we’ll find ourselves without hot water when we need/want it. If we agree to it, it’s a minimum 1-year commitment, so we want to be pretty sure about it.

I have a GE hot,cold dispenser. my hot water no longer heats up. I opened it up , but I dont know what I am looking for.
Sorry, this sounds so lame but I can’t find a shut off anywhere. I’m thinking I may just have to shut off the main water line and let the hot water drain. Any safe ideals how I can accomplish this without having to shut down the entire water line to the house or take the wall out to find a shut off is appreciated.
I live in an apartment, and I cannot hook a water softener up to the plumbing due to my lease contract (and the way the plumbing is installed).
So I was wondering if I got a water softener and hooked a hose from the shower head that went to the input, and then another hose coming out and hooking to a shower head, would this work? Is it okay for the hot water to go through the water softener?

I’m in a pinch! I am trying to install a new tankless water heater, so I have my old tank removed and the cold valve coming in turned off. I turn back on my cold water to the house and everything is OK, but then after a bit water starts trickling out of the open hot water line. Anything I can do to get my cold water working for now? What’s causing this?
I’m fairly certain that the hot water that comes out of the tap/shower/other plumbing is heated through gas, but what causes the water to come out cold? How is the water cooled before it comes out of the tap?
Wouldn’t the temperature of the water lines depend on the season? Like they’d be hotter in summer and colder in winter…how is that maintained at a constant temperature then?
It only is happening in one of two showers and in no other faucet in the house. I also noticed a hammering sound when I turn the hot water on at the sink in the same room as the shower in question. The drop in pressure is dramtic and when I turn the handle to full hot and back it off slowly the water flow acks as if there is air in the line. Ideas?
I haven’t used this tub in my house for… months and months. Now, when I turn it on, the water runs yellow/brown/brick colored. I’ve cleared out the cold water tap, it’s running clear now. But the hot water keeps running a yellowish color and leaves behind some sort of dirt. Should I just keep it running longer then till it clears out too?
We are getting hot water coming out the cold taps in the faucets (bathtub, shower, bathroom sink, etc) and getting hot water in the toilet. We have to fun the cold water for about 2 minutes before we get cold water. We living in a one story house built in 1975 in the San Diego Area. We can feel heat coming from under the carpet and under the bathroom tiles. This has only been going on for about a week. We haven’t made anything changes.

valve, running the excess water outside. This is HOT water.I know that my water pressure coming into the house is 110. I only get my disability check each month, and can’t afford to have someone come to fix it. Could someone be kind enough to tell me what I can do?
the water hose on top is there to keep water from getting everywhere,I have it draing outside thur my dryer vent for now.
It was only purchased last year, and is a Hamilton Beach unit that offers cold or hot water. The light is red for the hot water, and doesn’t come on at all anymore. Thanks in advance..
I’ve heard people say that drinking hot water is better for you than drinking cold water because the hot water cleanses your body. But how is that possible? Because I would think that whatever you drink would become the same temperature as your stomach once it gets there. It’s not like that ice cold water is going to go all through your veins.
