How is it that the hot water comes out scalding hot if the bottle of water is room temp. Is it stored in it’s own seperate compartment and if so how long do you think that water might sit there before someone uses it?

We’re trying to switch out our kitchen faucet, but cannot get the hot water to stop coming from the faucet. We’ve turned the water off at the main source and under the kitchen sink. Does anyone know why hot water is still coming from the faucet and how to stop it?

Yesterday the inspection on the house we have a contract on to buy said that both of the two sink faucets in the master bathroom wouldn’t turn on for the cold water.
The hot water worked fine in both, but not the cold. The faucets appear to be original 1980 faucets. could they be "frozen" shut by mineral deposits over the years? The cold water supply was on.

The hot water was running then all of a sudden it just stopped. It’s only the Kitchen faucet it come out of everywhere else fine including the dishwasher. it’s happened like 4 times it usually comes back after a while even though we are not entirely sure why it does. We changed the faucet thinking it was that but it stop again. any suggestions as to why?
The hot water stops completly but only the hot water and only the kitchen faucet. We have tried taking the faucet off but it’s only worked once.

My bathtube faucet has been running (lightly) for 2 days. I want to wait till the end of the week to report it to my landlord because I don’t want them coming in to fix it this week. They come at the worst times and this week I will be sleeping late and having my lover over. I want to wait till late in the week so that they will come when it is convenient to me. They always have the worst timing. It is just running nonstop (the hot water) in a steady stream. I know it is wasting water, but that isn’t the issue. I just don’t want to deal with them coming in my apartment this week. I work evenings and sleep late in the mornings and don’t want to be disturbed whenever they decide to pop in.
this faucet has leaked twice before and I have had them come in to fix it but they are not professionals so they really dont’ know how to fix it right. It began to have a light driip within a week of being fixed both times and I get tired of having to wait around and make sure I am dressed and up in case they come in early.

My water cooler has been acting funny recently. Hot water works no problem. But the cold water side is the problem. When I push the spigot, sometimes water won’t come out normally. Sometimes it drips when I let it go. Sometimes it works fine. Before it works fine though, water will come out real slow for a few seconds. It’s pretty frustrating especially when I’m thirsty. I removed the spigot cap to get to the line directly, and water doesn’t gush out. So its definitely NOT the spigot gasket, spring, or operation.
I shaked and hit the machine. Resetted it. No go. Also the air vent for the tank isn’t blocked.
Whats going on?

I installed a temperature control faucet about 2 months ago. It was working fine but now the hot water is becoming less and less( almost cold ) I know their has to be a way to adjust this thing. Has anybody out there ever worked with one of these things?

Ok, the house is 10 years old. We have a maytag plastic interior dishwasher. We have a 7 year old culligan water softener system,
The area has hard water but the water softener makes it softer.
The problem is we are seeing, powder residue on the dishes. We have tried that plastic booster but its coming back again.
1) Do we need a dishwasher with a stainless steel interior?
2) Do we need to turn the hot water up?
3) Clean the water softener? (Had water tested and its fine)
4) Any other ideas?
Help!!! Its driving our family nuts!

My water heater is dead. It’s leaking slowly from the bottom. I turned off the power from the circuit breaker and closed off the water valve. Can I drain the 50 Gal tank just through the hot water faucets in the bathrooms? Will they stop running when the heater is empty? Thanks.
Without using the relief valve.

I have been using tap water that i have let sit for about a week to do water changes with and my fish still die. Am I using the right water or should i not let the tap water sit for a while? Also I use a dechlorifier. What do I do a water change with?
Here are some details, its a 20 gallon tank, i have 2 swordtail (1 male 1 female) and a loach. The pH looked somewhat high about 2 days ago but after using some chemicals it went to about neutral or slightly above. I have an undergravel filter and i try to do weekly water changes. I just wanted to know if it was acceptable to let the water sit for a while and naturally dechlorinate or if it was better to just take tap and use a dechlorifyer. How do you get the temperature to be the same though without using hot water? Thanks.

I live in the country and I have a well. my water began to stink and i lost a lot of hot water so I checked out my water heater and determined that the lower element was bad and since the heater was at least ten years old I opted to get a new one. I bought a Whirlpool Gold water heater with dual anode rods, larger elements, and energy star. the heater was the most expensive 50 gallon that I saw there at 500 it has a 12 year warranty and I installed it myself. I figured that that would solve the problem but after two or three days my water began have a sulfuric smell again. I am wondering if it is my water softener it is a rented one from culligan and has been here since we got the house 9 years ago. we have had various issues with it and every time they come out spend 10 minutes charge 50 and say that it is fine. it is not consistent in putting out soft water, and uses 200-250 pounds of salt in a week to week and a half. I also have to clean a disgusting looking black sludge off of the side of th

All of a sudden all of our showers stopped producing hot water. It is not ice cold, but it is also not hot either. This is happening to all our showers. But we can get plenty of hot water from our faucets. The plumber who came out wants to replace the cartridges in the showers that regulate the hot and cold – but this doesn’t make sense that all of the cartridges in all of our showers would suddenly all go bad at the same time. So what else could be causing just our showers to no longer get hot water?

When we turn on our (single-handle) kitchen faucet and set it to hot, after hot water starts coming out, soon afterwards we hear a very high-pitched whine and have to turn it off or to cold. What causes this and is it something we can fix? Should we just replace the faucet?
