…but one puts out cold water and the other hot water. I want to know how this works. Is the water in the jug room temperature? What controls the hot and cold temperatures of the water?
This may seem like a dumb question, but I really have no idea how it works. Can anyone inform me?
Here is a picture of the cooler I’m talking about, if I’ve confused you.

I’m not interested in buying one, it’s just that my dad’s office used to have one and I could never figure out how it worked.

If the water coming out of my filter jug tastes funny, does that mean the filter needs to be changed?

Water continues to leak out of my water cooler between the jug and the cooler itself. Can this be fixed? Has anyone experienced this?

Like the big jug dispencer things. It is only 26 dollars a month, they deliver it to your front step, and you get two free cases of water bottles free.

Is there a way to clean a filter for PUR water purifier? We have the jug one and they recamend you change them ever 2 months. It seems like this is a bit of a waste and expensive to boot. Can you just clean it in bleach or something and continue to use it? Or is there a different way that would work? If so then how? IF you can’t then please give a reason as to why?
How do you recamend cleaning it?

I have been giving my son (5 weeks old) distilled water from a jug that i buy at kroger to mix with his formula.
My question is.. if i buy a PUR water filter that goes onto my faucet can i use that to mix his formula with and then put it in the bottle warmer or do they not get the flouride out? Im so confused
i know they need fluoride in their water but AFTER they are 4 months old.. until then its a no no (according to my drs) Basically im wondering if a water filter will filter out the fluoride

I do not like the water that comes out of our faucet and we have a water softner. I’ve been buying bottled water for about a year now and I’m tired of spending the money. I’ve recently been looking at water coolers and you can get nice ones for around 100.00. I’d really like to purchase one of these but they make the Pur water coolers that you get straight from your tap instead of going to the store and filling up your jug. Does anyone know if this system really works and makes the water taste good, and in that case should I even bother and maybe just get a Pur Faucet (or other brand) attachment? I really can’t find any sites to help me compare or gather any more research. Do you have any suggestions based upon experience or any websites that may help me? I’m willing to try anything resonably priced as long as I get great quality drinking water.

I have a plastic water filter (Brita) you just fill under the tap and water collects into the jug. I clean it regularly but after a bit it still gets a sort of faint algae taste. I’m sure it can’t be good, but does anyone know about this, and have you ever heard of warnings against water filters?

my boyfriend thinks is ridiculous that i buy bottled water for my rat.
i live in the city and i don’t want him drinking that nasty tasting water. would it make him sick if i did? even i don’t drink that gross water.
do you think its dumb that i buy him bottled water? i mean like a big jug is only like 80 cents. i think he is just jealous of my rat because i give him all the attention.

Basically Brita has two types of filters the one that’s screwed on to the tap and jug types. They actually filter out different things. Jugs filter out mercury, coper and some other heavy metal.
So why not use both? Turn your first on, and pour water into the second one?
Second guy >> also removes the same harmful parts
No, it doesn’t that the whole point.

I’m testing a steam reforming catalyst, feeding water through a vaporizer to get superheated steam that vaporizes an isooctane feed. The mix vapor is fed over the catalyst. Recently my steam feed line completely plugged up with solidified potassium compounds, and the entire group has no idea where potassium might have come from. The water is ultra-pure (18.2MΩ-cm), the tubing is all 316 stainless, the isoocatne is reagent grade, and the tracer gas feed is UHP N2. Anybody have any ideas? The water reservoir is just an HDPE jug, flowing through an HPLC pump with a 15 micron filter on the outlet. Anybody ever seen potassium contamination before that can help me out?

I know the particles aren’t harmless, but they’re not supposed to get into the jug where I pour my water from.
What’s causing this? Sign that I need a new filter maybe? It’s been happening since I put it in 2 months ago though.
Anything I can do?
