This has been nagging at me for a while. The minerals in tap water change the taste of the water, that much is clear. But I heard that filtering water may de-oxygenate it, and cause the tea to taste flat. Does filtering water really de-oxygenate it, or is just that filtered water is often flat because it’s been sitting in the jug too long after being filtered?

10 points if you can help me out.

I’m looking for a water filtration system I saw advertised on TV… it is for the water coolers that take the huge jugs… it is a jug-like thing that has filters in it, and you put your own tap water in it and it filters it and your cooler cools and dispenses it… I forget what it is called, and would like to find their website? any help?

I have been reading this book that deals with improving your life and health, and it suggested that one should start drinking spring water rather than standard tap water. Why would this be? So i went to the store (i buy water by the jug because the water in my area is not properly treated) and it is more expensive to buy spring water than drinking water. What gives? Is it really that big of a difference?
