its for science class and shouldn’t be that complicated. it has to filter water in under an hour. we have to get all the stones, mud, debris, and preferably bacteria out of the water because we are supposed to drink the water after we’ve used our filter
it has to be inside one of those big pop bottles

I currently have a Culligan Iron Cleer unit, and it has been effective in removing iron, but also is very noisy and becomes clogged with the ‘mud’ that comes out of our well.
Any experiences that anyone can share with different models of iron filter would be appreciated. Especially if you have >5ppm of iron in your well water.

Okay, I need serious answers please. It looks like there’s some type of mud in the softener tank? Is there any logical explanation why this is?

I think I may have a spring in my yard that is causing a corner of my yard to be extremely muddy (I sink about 4 inches in mud when I walk there). Is there some way that you can tell if you have a spring underground. I have not seen any actual trickles of water, except when it is raining, I get a lot of little currents of water around that area.

My house uses well water, and when it rains the well fills with dirt, and the water stops running in the house. So I turned the water off, but when I turn it back on, the clear cylindrical case housing the filters fills with muddy water. If I wait, will the well fill higher and dissipate the mud, or can I turn it on now? I want water!
