When i vacuum the pool the dirty water just shootd right back out with one swipe of the vacuum. Just replaced the cartridge filter hoping that was the answer and it wasnt. Im using a dedicated line to run it and get great suction but not so much through the skimmer. I’m outta ideas

I tried to fill up my pool with well water and the water became very dirty. There is still water pressure, just dirty water. How long should it take for the well to be usable again? Its a dug well, not sure how deep.
It actually isn’t a new well, its an old well. We just bought the house and had the well inspected with a water flow test and everything.

Also, when taking a shower in Australia, does it smell like you’re swimming in a pool, as it does in many parts of the U.S.?

I have called EVERYONE in the book about getting bulk water delivery to our house and it seems like I am an alien asking this question. I do not understand back in Massachusetts we had water delivered to our house from a truck NO PROBLEM and no Florida I can not find ANYONE to delivery water. This is crazy! I was desperate and hoping someone out there might know anyone who would deliver around 10,000 gallons to fill the pool. thanks in advance for trying!

I installed a old water softner from the late 70s or early 80s and it uses 50 pounds of salt every 3 days. I have no papers on this and it shows it recycles every 4 days. and another Q.. should I fill my pool with the water softer on? its a 18′ by 4′ pool

I recently moved to a new house that has a water softener. I have an allergy to chlorine (bleach) and since my move, I have had issues with dermatitis. When running the water at my house I smell more chlorine than at my old house. The only change I think is the addition of the water softener. My bathtub smells like a pool. Could this be due the the water softener? What can I do to help??

Anytime I have the hose on outside for adding water to the pool or watering the lawn, etc, I cannot even flush the toilet inside but do get some running water from the sinks. What in the world would cause such a drop in the water pressure & how do I fix it? The "how do I fix it" part is most important here if anyone can offer some steps to take to remedy the situation. Much appreciated!

They say that tap water is better than bottled water, both for us, and the environment. Here lies the problem. (I’m from NC btw) I used to drink straight from the sink or the fridge door. It tasted fine (like you would expect water to taste) and I almost replaced soda/tea/coffee entirely. I moved to TX (Killeen) and I can’t stand the water here! At first I could barely stand to take a shower in it but obviously I had to get used to it.(If I don’t keep the bathroom door open I still get that weird feeling like I’ve been in the pool too long) I tried attached a Pur filter to my tap, it didn’t really help. I took the filtered water and put it in a Brita pitcher… Nothing. I can still taste that chemically-cholriny gunk. I do buy water by the gallon rather than individual bottles, but I’d like to drink from the tap again. I can’t really modify my sink/plumbing area (yay apartment living). Other than the above filters and boiling water every time I get thirsty, what can I do? Buying all those gallons can’t be any better than buying Auqafina?
I checked the water reports available online for both my current city and my home. Home seems to have a lot less of most of the contaminants listed. *lightbulb*

I have a pool and I’m not sure if I can swim while the salt water filter is running. Is it okay or should I turn it off then swim?

Summer is around the corner! We are going through the annual cleaning for our lovely pool. We are using algae killer and blocker now. Well, we have those water bugs and water beetles that are really annoying. The ones that not only swim, but fly. I was wondering if there is anything I can purchase to rid/kill them from the pool.
Thanks!
Our Ph level is 8.2 which is extremely high. We have high chlorine level because we have algae and are battling it.

Well.. I’m cycling a 5 Gallon Tank for a Betta and an African Dwarf Frog. And.. Today I tested both Nitrite and Ammonia both reading Zero. And I decided to do some research on what exactly did I do during my Fishless Cycling. Turns out.. I don’t think I did any cycling. I did NOT add any Ammonia. So It just started out as Tap Water. I just put Tap Water with some Stress Coat. I let it run with a filter, Air stone, and a Heater. It has Pool Sand.
Did I actually cycle? Or is it just.. Pure water?

I have a 10ft by 30 in pool, and i am not planning on replacing the water everyday. Do I need chlorine or chemicals to clean the pool if I have the filter that came with the pool?

I’ve just installed a new cartridge filter. It is the System 3 Mod Media Filter. I read in the manual that during the initial start up phase, I must wait for a steady stream of water to come out of the air release valve before closing it. However, I am not getting any water out of this valve. I can see that the pump is primed and water is released back into the pool. What could be problem for this not to happen as stated in the manual?

I need to do some work on my 4 underground pool pipes that connect my pool to the equipment. If I lower the water level in the pool so it is lower than the level of the 4 underground 2" PVC pipes, do I eliminate any water problems at the site where I am making my cuts? I am worried about not being able to control the water due to the pressure created by the pool. Should I also put a rubber mat over the main drain in the bottom of the pool?
