How is it that the hot water comes out scalding hot if the bottle of water is room temp. Is it stored in it’s own seperate compartment and if so how long do you think that water might sit there before someone uses it?

My sister told me to boil water and then let it come back to room temp OR buy distilled water. Is this at all correct?

Ok, I have even tried freezing bottled water in a clean ice cube tray and then letting the cubes melt in a clean glass of room temp bottled water and there is still white particles floating around in the water. I have also frozen a sealed unopened bottle of water and found there to be particles floating in it after its melted. I haven’t tried distilled water yet but I think I’m almost curious enough too until I find out what that white stuff in my tap and bottled ice water is.

I bought a new fridge about 3 weeks ago. Side-by-side GE and has a water and ice dispensor. The ice is working perfect but the water is room temperature. I couldn’t find any information in the manual about whether the water is supposed to be room temp or cold. I would think the water is supposed to be cold but it’s not. Is that normal? Is something wrong with the connection? Any ideas?
