I’m curious what kind of changes our world would have if we never did. For instance no running water, would mean we would have to get water deliveries by a truck.
No dishwashers?
No toilets?
What else do you think would be different?
I’m looking for people that can think of alternate realities for this.

I love having the tank in my room but I just canNOT sleep with that running water sound! It’s a 10 gallon tank with 1 goldfish and 1 algae eater. I just want to know if it is safe to turn off their filter when I go to bed and turn it back on in the morning.

I am asking this because I have this second mini-house in my backyard with running water in its bathroom. The right knob on the faucet streams cold water but the left one doesn’t work streaming no water at all.
I was wondering if there is some sort of simple fix like a disconnected pipe somewhere in my house that will make the hot water work.
Thanks

I have a kemmore refrigerator. Two weeks ago I got up, went in the kitchen, and was walking in water. I looked and the water dispenser was slowly running water. Fiddling with it did not slow or speed up the water. I finally turned the water line feed off. What happened? Can I fix it?

Anytime I have the hose on outside for adding water to the pool or watering the lawn, etc, I cannot even flush the toilet inside but do get some running water from the sinks. What in the world would cause such a drop in the water pressure & how do I fix it? The "how do I fix it" part is most important here if anyone can offer some steps to take to remedy the situation. Much appreciated!

continued… into a test tube so I can calculate how much sugar was dissolved (crystallization). I covered the test tube (with a tool) and washed it under cold running water for about 30 seconds but no crystals appeared. Why?
Btw, is it possible to use fractional crystallization to separate sugar and salt?
Also, why in distillation, e.g. (ethanol+water)/(hexane+water), it will not be completely pure?

I have a Pur water filter pitcher with a relatively new filter (1 month or so). The water that has passed through, however, looks clear and fine, yet smells like rotten garbage. I tried emptying the pitcher and running water through the filter, but when I filled it again, it smelled just as bad. My water has been fine since I started using the pitcher a year ago until now. Obviously, I just bought a new filter today, but was there something preventable I could have done? I don’t know what could have caused this to happen.
I already ran a few pitchers full and they were fine. Like I said, the filter’s a month old. This problem suddenly popped up after a few weeks of drinking water from it that was fine.

So I’m not sure if the running water itself is powering them or if there’s a little battery inside from which the LED draws electricity from. Either way, how does it work?
