Have you ever had an in-home water filtration sales pitch? What did you think? Did you purchase? Does it work?
I do have a Marine Reef Aquarium that requires 0 TDS, which them claim this system will provide. If this were the case then it could save me money in the long run while providing the rest of the home with soft water.
Oh, and Nelis, they offered us the same soap and shampoo deal, 10yrs of stuff I likely won’t use. Flags started to fly when I get that "Shamwow" vibe.
Jason : Yes staingless, Yes, Yes, and Yes. It is top-of-the-line this I have confirmed but, I don’t know how much it should cost.

I am finding my hair is really out of whack and unmanageable. It’s like a combination of dry and oily and course and thin and really hard to wash and clean and blow dry. I use both bumble and bumble seaweed to clarify (tried other clarifying sampoos as well) and neutrogena condition to moisturize everyday. And yet it is always dry and at the same time has buildup so its greasy/sticky when trying to comb and blow dry. In addition my combs and brushes get so much build up very quickly, it’s like I have to clean them every week. I even have tried different dandruf sampoos like Head & Shoulders, Nixorel, and other prescription dry scalp shampoos. My hair salon stylist said that maybe it might be from hard water, which was something that she had in her old apartment and caused her to have really unmanageable hair at the time. I think this may be something for me as well because I notice that when I am traveling, I often have a really good time with my hair. When I’m on vacation, for example, I just air dry and it’s fine. Or if I’m at a hotel, I notice my hair washes and drys very well even though the shampoo there is usually neutrogena and they just have a basic dryer. I wanted to find a good shower head that filters for hard water.

My mom says that, because my hair hasn’t grown since last year and that’s maybe because I don’t drink enough water. I also wash, shampoo and condition my hair every day, but it’s still short. Does drinking water help?

I get itchy scalp and skin from my water and so does my husband. When I take a shower at my mom’s house or when we go out of town, my scalp does not itch even if I use the same shampoo. It’s got to be because of my water. I have fine thin chemically damaged hair too so I’m scared the water is keeping it from ever getting any healthier and growing. Please any suggestions or websites would be appreciated.

Where we live there is a lot of iron in our water, anyway we don’t have a water softener for our water. How can i make my hair softer, or what can i wash with my shampoo to help make my hair softer?

I hate showering at my dad’s house because the water literally trinkles out and I feel like I can’t get all the shampoo out. It’s not the showerhead because its been cleaned and the water faucet in the sink spits out water with a weak pressure as well. How could I fix this?
It’s bad throughout the whole house, unfortunately
Thanks though

I am trying to do my part to save water and energy by using cold water whenever I can for laundry, washing dishes and hands, etc. I also try to prevent wasting water by not letting the sink and bathtub run, and have installed a tankless water heater for near instant hot water. The problem is that my plumbing frequently backs up due to buildup of soap/shampoo/laundry detergent/dishwashing detergent. I’ve read that flushing the plumbing once a month with large volumes of hot water will help prevent/treat this problem, but that goes against my principles of trying to save energy and water. Does anyone have good ideas for preventing plumbing clogs from soap/detergent buildup, without wasting a lot of energy or water?

Just had a water softener installed because acid neutralizer was leaving too much grit (limestone) on my faucets, etc. Other than using less soap & shampoo, what else can I do to combat that slimy feeling on my hair and skin? Is there something else I can rinse off with? Any suggestions?

We have very hard water. When you take a shower the soap hardly lathers up. Your skin feels so dry after showering. I was thinking about getting a filter for the shower head but not sure if it will take care of the hard water. Has anyone tried one of those and do they work? Are they expensive and what is the best kind. Do you have to buy replacement filters? We can’t afford a water softner right now and really don’t have a place for one. Also do you know of any special soap or shampoo for hard water?

Could it be our new water tank? I would have thought the shower filter would have taken care of that. Every time I shampoo and dry, my hair on top is stick and oily-looking and it looks like I’ve gone a few days without washing. Can anyone suggest anything other than changing shampoos/hair dryers? I just moved across town and this didn’t happen at my other place, so it’s not the city water…
