i’ve recently heard that just soaking produce in salt water for 10 minutes and then rinsing them will clean them as well as soap. i thought how can it be this easy?! if it is true, why isn’t the secret out?

Have you ever had an in-home water filtration sales pitch? What did you think? Did you purchase? Does it work?
I do have a Marine Reef Aquarium that requires 0 TDS, which them claim this system will provide. If this were the case then it could save me money in the long run while providing the rest of the home with soft water.
Oh, and Nelis, they offered us the same soap and shampoo deal, 10yrs of stuff I likely won’t use. Flags started to fly when I get that "Shamwow" vibe.
Jason : Yes staingless, Yes, Yes, and Yes. It is top-of-the-line this I have confirmed but, I don’t know how much it should cost.

One of our customers is lookng to replace her kitchen faucet, but she has a faucet with a sprayer that also sprays out soap. To make a long story short, she is looking for the same thing and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know of a company that makes or made these or where I can get one? Thanks so much!

Is San Jose,CA water hard enough to need water softner ?
Previous house owner had a water softner installed. But I hate not having a sqeaky clean feel after a bath. The soft water does not seem to wash the soap off as well as the regular water.
Are there any real benefits of having water softner? Any users of water softner, or people who have researched this please answer.

When I bought my water softener, they gave me a whole bunch of generic soap in clear plastic wraps. The soap is imprinted with the word "Oatmeal", so I guess it’s oatmeal scented. Are these soap the same as the soap u buy at the store or should I beware of them?

Month after month I dump bags of salt into our water softner.I started to wonder:
A.) Where does all that salt go and are we consuming it?
B.) Where do all the minerals go that are supposedly removed to soften the water?
C.) Why does "soft" water always leave you feel like you cannot get the soap off?

My daughter asked me why we waste our bath water and the water that is flushed down the drain from our washing machine? She wanted to know if there was a way we could recycle the water and use it to water our lawn or garden? She is learning about going green. Could this water be recycled and used again??
where can i find info about this???
wi ll the "gray water" hurt the lawn or garden if it has laubdry soap or bleach in it?

OMG, I forgot to put salt in my water softener. Now I just opened the salt tank & saw the mold in there. What can I do to clean it out? Please help if you have any advice. I am thinking of using a shop vacuum to suck all the water & mold out, cleaning it out with soap, & then putting salt in after. Is this even a good idea?

I just moved to Florida and the Culligan guys are hounding me to get a water softener. Does it really make a difference? I’ve heard of the savings in soap, easier cleaning, etc but I don’t know if it makes that much of a true difference.

Just had a water softener installed because acid neutralizer was leaving too much grit (limestone) on my faucets, etc. Other than using less soap & shampoo, what else can I do to combat that slimy feeling on my hair and skin? Is there something else I can rinse off with? Any suggestions?

We have very hard water. When you take a shower the soap hardly lathers up. Your skin feels so dry after showering. I was thinking about getting a filter for the shower head but not sure if it will take care of the hard water. Has anyone tried one of those and do they work? Are they expensive and what is the best kind. Do you have to buy replacement filters? We can’t afford a water softner right now and really don’t have a place for one. Also do you know of any special soap or shampoo for hard water?
