I don’t use the fancy filters and purifyers, only iodine and a UV light I have. I was wondering if it would be safe for my dog to drink the water I purified with the iodine. Thanks in advance!
i look around but couldnt find an answer…because i had one that didnt need to have cartridges replaced and such but it broke recently….
so whats the best faucet water filter? that you dont have to replace it with cartridges? or it takes a long while before you have to replace them?

We are on a well for our water supply, and it is good with the exception of too much iron. We have a water softener which removes most of the excess iron, but are about to install an irrigation system for the yard and plants. We want to remove much, if not most, of the iron before it goes into the sprinklers to reduce rusty stains, clogging of the nozzles, etc, and to reduce the load on the existing water softener.
I remember seeing, 15 years ago, someone who used an external wound-fiber core type of filter, from what I remember of it. Is that still the best, where are they available, what is better, etc?

My son has recetly gotten thrush and ringworm both caused by fungus. Could the i give him from the water filter be causing his immune system to go down and making him more prone to infections? Thanks in advance for your answers.
Do UNOPENED replacement cartridges for PUR water filters expire? (The pitcher kind, not the faucet refill.)
I’ve had a PUR replacement cartridge (unopened, sealed in original package) in my closet for 3 years. Can I use it, or do you think it has expired? (The box is all beat up, so if there was an expiration date, it must have been rubbed off.)

I have a small pond (about 100-125 gal) with about 5-6 small kois & quite a few guppies. There are lots of water plants in it but the water is still green. I applied Barley Straw twice already but I don’t think that works very effectively. I’m thinking to get a filter but I don’t know which one to get. Should I get a UV sterilizer? Can someone recommend me a decent & affordable one – prefer under 0.

-My aquarium is around 40 cm x 40 cm (square shape) and has a height of around 20cm
-I have a water filter
-I dont need a heater because I have a thermometer and it shows me the water degree which is usually around 27-28 C
- My RES is around 8-9 months old and is about 9-10cm
- I feed him veggies, dry shrimps etc.
I want to know what kind of UV lighting is required for my RES. The Walt, type etc.

I was doing research on water purifiers. One option is a distiller. The other is a condenser that draws water out of the air. It then runs it through some fancy filtration which includes a UV filter. Thus my question. Will UV rays produce free radicals in water?

I am creating my baby registry (YAY!) and was wondering if putting a bottle warmer on is worth it? I am picturing myself at 3 a.m and thinking a bottle warmer in the bedroom would be nice, but I am a bit up in the air. I babysit alot to supplement my income (I’m currently student teaching for my Master’s Degree and not getting paid) and when I prepare the baby’s bottle, the mom tells me to use warm tap water to mix the formula. For moms with experience with this, are bottle warmers worth it? Is warm tap water okay to use instead? We have a Brita filter on our sink, and the tap water is okay to drink in my town – we use well water. I’m going to try to breastfeed, but just in case I can’t, or if I decide to use formula and breastmilk, I want to cover all my bases and be prepared!Just a new-mom-to-be with lots of questions! I’ve been using a Brita filtration system to filter the water I use to make my daughter’s formula for the last 6 months. I just heard that tap water contains things in high levels that aren’t necessarily healthy for small babies. It dawned on me that maybe Brita filtration systems don’t filter out all of the impurities, so now I’m wondering if this has been ok. Have you used Brita, or similar, filtration systems for your child’s formula? Does anyone know if this is safe? Thanks in advance for your input!

This is a 2 part question.
1. Any ratings on Whirlpool water softner sold by Lowes? They only have 2 models, one is 30,000 grains and the other is 45,0000 grains.
2. How to install in garage preplumbed with PVC in the wall. I bought it from Lowes and they sold me some flexible copper tubes to connect. But my garage has 2 pvc outlets for water softener which are 2ft lower than the top of water softener. Do I need any extentions to connect to bare PVC outlets? Bare meaning they are just pvc tubes closed with pvc caps. I don’t see any threads to attach the copper tubes sold by Lowes? How does this set up work? Thanks in advance.

I have called EVERYONE in the book about getting bulk water delivery to our house and it seems like I am an alien asking this question. I do not understand back in Massachusetts we had water delivered to our house from a truck NO PROBLEM and no Florida I can not find ANYONE to delivery water. This is crazy! I was desperate and hoping someone out there might know anyone who would deliver around 10,000 gallons to fill the pool. thanks in advance for trying!
