It is a side by side model with water and ice dispenser in the door. I just bought the house but the previous owner left no manual behind. The ice maker and dispenser work just fine, I just don’t know how to turn on the water dispenser. Is there a switch or something I’m not seeing?

I have a Samsung bottom freezer refrigerator, without a water dispenser. The only water flowing through the filter is for the ice maker and I estimate its usage being fairly light. Samsung recommends replacement every 6 months, but I feel that’s too often for my usage. Please give me your thoughts.
Dustin – You say to check it in 3 month intervals and if it doesn’t look bad, let it ride a while longer…What does a bad filter look like, compared with a good filter?

I bought my first personal water dispenser that I decided place inside my room. I wonder if I could just leave it plugged in for 24 hrs, 7 days a week?

i have stainless steel-front fridge with water dispenser on front. There is always an ugly streak of dried water running down the front, under the dispenser. The cleaner that came WITH the fridge is useless. So is everything else I’ve tried. Please help–if you really have the answer! Thanks!

Is tap water in your kitchen sink???
because my parents have this water dispenser and put my kitchen water in the dispenser and you just press a button to make the water come out?
is it good for you?? vs bottle water?

I recently replaced my refrigerator’s water filter and now there is some green stuff coming out of the water dispenser.
What should I do?

I have a 10 year old side by side GE refrigerator with a water dispenser that is leaking at the filter. The leak is inside the housing that holds the filter in place. I removed the filter and examined the gaskets and they look fine. The drip is constant and is not tied to the use of the water dispenser. What could be causing this?
Just to clarify, the leak is not from the filter itself. it is located above the filter. When the filter is removed, it still leaks.

I have a Kitchen Aid Fridge. About 4 years old. All of a sudden the water dispenser has started acting weird. The ice maker works fine, but the water dispenser only dispenses 1 cup of water at a time. I have changed the filter to no avail. Any Ideas?
Update:
Thank you all who answered.
I have checked water line — no gunk or frozen ice. When I push the water switch on the door I get about 1 cup of water (roughly) then water cuts out, as if the power is cut off. Then no water for next few hours. Then few hours later again I can dispense about 1 cup of water before it cuts off again. I can do this repeatedly. I suspect it is the solenoid getting hot and cutting off — can you tell me if it is a DIY item?
Thanks Again for helping!!

I drink a lot more water now that I have a water dispenser with a filter on my fridge, but I’m wondering if that filter is also removing fluoride from the same water.

We have an Ultima reverse osmosis water system in our garage, and it’s hooked up to a little water dispenser on our sink and an ice maker under our counter. Recently the water dispenser has stopped dispensing water and our ice maker has stopped making clear ice and makes an odd grinding noise. What can I do to fix this and prevent it from happening again?

I have a large Brita water dispenser (about 2 gallons, I think). In the front of the lid there is a rectangular hole fitted with a vented cap. I can’t find anything in the literature to indicate what this is for. I’m guessing it might be so you can fill the dispenser without removing the lid. Anyone know?

I am looking for the type of water dispenser that is bottle included. That means I don’ t have to go to the store for refill after it’s emptied; I can just fill it up with tap water and the filter is located inside the dispenser so that I can replace it when needed. I’ve been looking everywhere and I couldn’t find one just like the way I described. They only have bottle-sold-separately dispenser. If any of you owned one as I described, please let me know where you got it and what’s the brand ? Thanks !

The water softener cycles early in the morning. The ice maker and sometimes the water dispenser now have this briny taste. So does the ice- yuck! Has anyone experienced something similar and what can i do about it? I have tried turning off the ice maker at night, but sometimes I forget and then the ice gets ruined!
