Its a new water filter pitcher, that has 4 bottles attached to it, so you can just take the reusable bottles out with filtered watered. Does anyone know the name of this product/brand that makes it?

The area I am staying in for the summer has nasty tap water. I have a PUR water filter pitcher in my fridge but the acrid sweetness of the water remains. Is there anything I can do short of blowing money on bottled water all summer?
Thanks
I want water! Your suggestions of how to flavor the water do not help. I want water tasting water. :p

I bought a PUR water filter pitcher on Amazon. It came today and I pouring water in it and saw that the filter is leaking these small black particles. I researched a bit and found out that it’s called active carbon, my question is is it suppose to fall out? Or should I get a refund?

Okay, so I bought a Pur water filter pitcher so that I would stop buying so much bottled water, with the intention to be more environmentally friendly.
The time just came to replace the cartridge for the first time. What do I with the old cartridge? Can it be recycled at all? I don’t like thorwing things in the trash if I don’t have to.

If you use a water filter pitcher on a regular basis for drinking, will it remove the floride and cause cavities in your teeth?

I’m on a mission to find a drinking water filter (pitcher or portable preferably) one that filters out chlorine (NOT just the taste like the crappy rip-offs like Brita and Pur) one that filters out metals. . . Thanks!

I have a Pur water filter pitcher with a relatively new filter (1 month or so). The water that has passed through, however, looks clear and fine, yet smells like rotten garbage. I tried emptying the pitcher and running water through the filter, but when I filled it again, it smelled just as bad. My water has been fine since I started using the pitcher a year ago until now. Obviously, I just bought a new filter today, but was there something preventable I could have done? I don’t know what could have caused this to happen.
I already ran a few pitchers full and they were fine. Like I said, the filter’s a month old. This problem suddenly popped up after a few weeks of drinking water from it that was fine.

I spend to replace the carbon filter on my water filter/pitcher every few months. Would the activated carbon used by home distillers be as good an option to filter my water? The exact brand I’m thinking about is Prestige stone activated carbon (.4-1.4mm), and I would be running it through a coffee filter in the existing housing on my water pitcher.
Can any chemists – amateur or professional – tell me if this would be a good or bad idea?

Ive been using a brita water filter pitcher for 4 years and have never had any problems. The last time i changed the filter, however, i started getting sick from drinking the water. The water has a chemical taste and upsets my stomach very badly. I am positive its the water. could the filter be leaking anything, or be contaminated? I clean the pitcher well. I live in apartments and have not heard complaints from anyone one about the tap water. So i think its the filter. Does anyone have any info or the same issues?
