I found out iron in water to my apt due to the presence of brown/red stains at sink & bathtub.?
Will a water filter system (faucet or pitchers) be able to remove iron from my drinking water?

My refrigerator water has been dispensing very small black specs, it was a very old refirgertor and needed to be replaced anyway. Replace it with a top of the line fridge with a water filter system. still black specs. Not in tap water or any other place. Any ideas? Thank You
This is the deal I’m about to close the deal and now my realtor says that the house has a water filter system. The current owners want to take it away. Can I demand to keep it??? or they got the legal right to take away.
My fiance lives out in the country and has well water. His water smells HORRIBLE!!! It literally makes me gag. The only way I can describe the smell is that it reminds me of either rotten eggs or perm solution (if you’ve ever walked into a salon while someone’s getting a perm done). I can’t pinpoint which of those two it smells more like, but in either case it’s nasty. He bought a water filter system but hasn’t had the chance to install it yet. Not sure if this will correct the problem or not, but I am wondering if there is anyone out there who may have had this same problem or might know what could be causing this? I want this fixed before I move in with him, as I cannot stand to even take a shower or brush my teeth when I’m over at his house…..HELP!!!!
Where can I find information about a home water filter system(drinking water)? I don’t think I plan on making every faucet in my house filtered unless it’s cheaper to just do it all. Where do I start? How hard is it to change the filters when it’s time to change them? What’s the best company? etc. ,
Thanks
I just had a water filter system put in and the pipes are getting wet on the outside from the cold water running through it. can i stop this with out getting a thicker pipe?
I’m concerned by the amount of oil burned to truck and fly bottled water around the world so I would rather just drink tap water. What is the best installed water filter system that doesn’t leave the water with out minerals?

I saw a water filter system in someone’s house a few years ago that was homemade and cannot remember how they said they made it. I remember there was some shiny stones – looked like they were polished but not fancy – on the bottom of a plastic water container. She said, if memory serves, that they were using a filter for an aquarium containing carbon and chunky rocks bought at the store. They said they filled it with the tap water. The siggot was on the bottom and the used it for their coffee, ice cubes and drinking water. She said they simply changed the filter once per month and cleaned the rocks. My questions are these: has anyone ever heard of such a homemade system? If so, what type of filter is she talking about? Is the 1 x per month accurate? Is is safe to use as I have small children in my home? Thank you in advance for your assistance.
I have a Whirlpool under the sink water filter system. The spout on top of the sink has become loose, but to tighten the wing nuts holding it on, I need to remove the tube coming from the filter. Can I remove the tube and reinsert it without losing the seal?
It connects by pushing the tube in and it automatically locks in place.
I only need a small water filter, counter top. I don’t know why I can’t make one, but it has been difficult to find information, instruction or ingredients.
I would think that carbon would be one ingredient. I want the water to taste better, and remove the bad minerals, and organisms. I don’t want to remove the good minerals.
I live in a high rise that is about 60 years old, and it uses city water. The city is on the shore of Lake Michigan.
I really don’t want to put a lot of money into buying a counter top water filter system, since I’m on Social Security, and have to cut costs as many ways as possible.
Some things I’ve learned in my searches, is that the carbon can become contaminated over time, and should be changed periodicly. I also learned that batting below the carbon can remove small pieces of the carbon. But, are there other ingredients I need, and how do I build it?
I read a review on the website about the PUR Flavor Options Water Filter System being too heavy for faucets and it causes the faucets to leak. I was wanting to purchase one, but I am not sure now. If anyone has that particular filter system, would you PLEASE let me know. I would really APPRECIATE it.
The house we recently purchased has a whole house water filter system. When we purchased the house, there was no filter installed, and the water was bypassing the system. We purchased a filter, shut off the bypass and have the water going through the filter. However, whenever we shut off the water anywhere in the house, we hear a banging noise – any ideas why and how we could stop it?
