you’re still alive so your water can’t be too bad…
If you’re concerned try adding about 1/4 tap water to boiled water and increase the tap water fraction every 2-3 days until you’ve got him drinking 100% tap. If you see any indications of upset stomach or diarrhea then you’ll have to go back to boiling for a while.
Kids are remarkably resilient, don’t worry…
how clean is your water
in uk it comes out the tap clean
sorry but your not making much sense
The fact that you started doing this so early means you probably already screwed his immune system..
THis is a common misconception with babies.. Their immune system is strongest when they are first born (provided they went full term)
I would cut the boiling out now, just put a active coal filter.
don’t stop boiling water do not
I don’t know
My wife and I never boiled any water our babies drank. I dont think you need to do that at all.
As long as you’re not on a well, you should be fine. I never boiled water for my daughter. As long as the baby doesn’t have health problems, it’s unnecessary. But like I mentioned, if you’re on a well, you should boil it because the water wasn’t treated.
Try using bottled water. The digestive tract is not sterile by any means. The bacteria found in his water is something that his body will start becoming accustomed to.
You can stop boiling water because at this point because your 8 month old son has developed his inmune system to his full!
No but if you are that worried about it, Just buy him bottled water.
I stopped boiling water for my daughter when she turned 2 months old. After that, I bought her gallon water and then I started giving her drinking water that we get from machines at about 6 months.
If you sterilize everything for your baby for too long, you might make his stomach too weak. Unless adviced by your pediatrician, I think you should start giving him normal drinking water.. never tap though
)
If you are giving him bottled water or store bought water you don’t need to.
Good luck to you from a Mother of 3
Buy him baby water. They have it in every grocery store. And it has a little fluoride to protect his teeth.I gave my son that water until he was two he’s turning four and the dentist said he’s not close to having any cavities. It’s in the baby food section.
I stopped that at about three months. No, it isn’t necessary. Unless you are living in a third world country. The public water has to meet certain federal, state, and local rules. This included rigiorous testing by the EPA. Boiling is unnecessary after the first few months.
Baby water (nursery water) is actually worse than regular tap water because of the additives – like flouride. The amount in the water is more than is allowed by EPA standards. Bottled water is NOT government regulated to the extent tap water is.
Why are you boiling the water? You don’t need to unless there is something wrong with your water.
i would keep boiling it till about the age of 1 cause his small system wouldnt be able to cope very well with bacteria
It should be alright giving your child just tap water (that is, if your tap water is safe to drink). Or, what you might prefer, is switching to bottled, filtered water, and then you can probably stop boiling the water for his formula as well.
Wishing you all the best!
I gave clean (boiled) water to my baby until they were about 2 yrs. old…depending on how long they stay on the bottle..I don’t trust tap water…nasty…buy bottle water for your baby’s drinking water….just my opinion….
water is water but i never once boiled water for my son i use the ready to feed formula not as stressful just pour in baby bottle and go. Try using bottled water especially if you have well water thats what i did at first.
Some tap water actually has vitamins and nutrients like flouride that can be good for you. So call your township and see if the tap water is safe to drink. That could help you out with your decision. Then you can stop boiling that water! I bet that is a PITA!
Don’t stop till he is over one years old just to be safe
After 6 months of age, you do not need to boil the water you give to drink to your baby unless there is a boiling water advisory in your neighborhood. I would continue to boil the water for the formula though to prevent bacterial proliferation since formula is a great environment for these little buggers.
As long as you have "city water" as opposed to well water, you are fine to stop boiling. It’s not necessary
If you have city water, you should not have to boil the water any more at this age. But if you have well water and have not had the well tested in a long time, it may be advisable to continue boiling it.
why can you just go and get water at a dispenser near by or buy water? i wouldn’t give my baby boiled water but that’s my opinion
STOP NOW!
Depends on where you are at. Here you dont need to straight out of the tap is perfect for babies and better than bottled water bc it contains fluoride.
USE BOTTLED WATER
Boiling water condenses the fluoride – if fluoride is in your water supply. Call you local water department to find out how much. All water has some fluoride even when it’s not added.
Fluoridated water should not be used to make infant formula according to the American Dental Association and the Centers for Disease Control
