But if there is not another storage medium, then no, once that 30 is used, it&#039;s gone, unless you have an active treatment system that treats the hot water as it is dispensed from your heater. Try adjusting the intervals to once a week or every 3 days week</description>

Most softeners work by adding salt to  the  water as it passes through and don&#039;t need to &quot;go off&quot;.  It is possible that you have a reverse osmosis unit, and what it  does every once in a while is back flush to clean  out the accumulations.</description>
