Water temperature for hydroponic plants is too high. How can we lower the temperature?
We think the cause is the pump being too hot and heating up the water. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Denise! There are a couple of methods you could try depending on how much you want to spend and how your current hydroponic system is set up. It would be helpful to know how many gallons your reservoir is, but I am going to assume you are using either a 20 gallon or 40 gallon reservoir.
Least Expensive: You could fill up a 2 liter bottle of water about 4/5 of the way. Put it in your freezer over night, and then stick it in your reservoir during the day.
Little Expense: You could try and remove back pressure from your pump by creating more drip lines to help alleviate the pressure build up that is causing your pump to heat up.
Medium Expense: You could purchase a smaller pump.
Large Expense: You could purchase a chiller and install it into your reservoir to help control the nutrient rich water solution.
