What is the difference between sediment filters and drinking water filters?

they r both about the same
drinking water filters are used the same way as sediment filters: it filters out minerals so the water can be drinkable
the difference is: sediment filters dont always have to be used for drinking water
Sediment filters are made of a fine mesh or, can be filter papers. The size of the mesh or type of filter paper will govern the size of the solid particles separated from a gas or liquid stream.
Drinking water filters generally contain Activated Charcoal (carbon) that will ADSORB chemicals like Chlorine and Lead compounds and certain gaseous and solid particles out of the water, making it more palatable.
(ADSORPTION is the ability of the molecules of some solids to hold on their surface, molecules of other substances…Solids, Liquids and Gases…This type of substance is called an ‘Adsorbent’).
(ABSORPTION refers to gases being absorbed into liquids called ‘Absorbents’).
