What is the difference between tap water and 'table' water?
In Sainsbury’s (UK) you can buy a bottle of water labeled ‘Still Table Water’ there is no indication anywhere on the bottle that it is anything other than the stuff from the tap. Is it filtered etc..? If so, why doesn’t it tell the consummer what they are getting for their money? I smell a (water) rat.

Table water needn’t be of natural origin. It is an artificial mixture of tap water and other ingredients such as saltwater or mineral water. Since table water is not bound to a specific spring it may be produced and bottled anywhere. It may also be sold in bulk – as in water for water dispensers. Unlike mineral water, it needs no official approval.
