What kind of water softener do I need?
I just purchased a new double-wide mobile home, and my water is horrible. It’s full of iron and is turning everything orange. My clothes, my toilet bowls, bath-tub, and soon my hair! So I need a water softener bad. I just don’t know what kind I need. I need one that will work for my problems, but I don’t want to spend more money than I need to. What do I need to look for in a water softener? Can someone please help (preferably someone who has had experience with this…) Thanks so much!

They make softner salt just for high iron regions like yours.
Any softner will do, but if you care to invest, a culligan is the best you can get. 20 years of service easy.
You may want to rent one for a while though before you buy.
For about 30 dollars a month here, they will supply the salt, the softner, and I think install it also.
The high iron salt will cost you 6 bucks a month, so having it supplied and put in the rented tank for you for 30 a month isn’t such a bad deal.
all you need is a water softner that uses salt as long as your water doesnt have a rotten egg smell…Culligan, home depot, lowes, sears, soft water inc… sell these softeners culligan will have your water tested and even install and set up your softener for you….
